Segwit2X called off!
The attempt to increase the block size by upgrading the software will not take place any time soon. Apparantly the team didn't come to any agrement. The Segwit 2x was expected to take place around November 16th at block 494784.
"Unfortunately, it is clear that we have not built sufficient consensus for
a clean block size upgrade at this time. Continuing on the current path could divide the community and be a setback to Bitcoin’s growth. This was never the goal of Segwit2x."

There is still hope that the block size will be upgraded down the road, but we don't know when.
