Does Warren Buffett’s rule apply to crypto trading ?
The volatility in the crypto markets in the last few days, have hadmy fingers permanently glued to my phone. While a 15-30% change in the value of a crypto, may not be a big deal in the crypto world, in regular investing that would either be a trigger to buy or sell. Billionaire investor Warren Buffett famously says that one should be greedy when others are fearful, and fearful others are greedy. Should that rule apply for cryptos ?
As bitcoin fell to around $2200 today, I was caught in a dilemma. Do I accumulate or do i cash out ? Hedging came to mind, but that is simply prevaricating. Never do that in a volatile market. I bought some more bitcoin and ethereum. There is presently no direct means of buying eth in my country. Story for another day. I decided to increase my stake and Ive made some nice gains. Choices like this, have kept regular investors from playing in the crypto market. The usual rules don’t seem to work. Or do they ?
