How to explain cryptos to Grandma

She learnt how to use Facebook five years ago, so it should be quite easy for her to understand. Maybe

1. No, Granny. Bitcoin isn't a sort of food for pets

If you think about it, it's not that easy to aswear this questions, considering you are talking with a 88 years old lady who doesn't trust Credit Cards because "You know, at the end of the day I wanna count how much money I spent and a Card doens't speak."

2. Crypto is not the rock you see in Superman, that one was Kryptonite

Having 4 granchildren, granny is getting used to Superheros and all the stuff... Maybe we have gone to far

Do you want a toast?

No granny, thanks. Just finished lunch.

3. Let's say cryptos aim to substitute paper money, just to make it easy

Granny: "so tell my dear, don't we already have credit cards if you don't wanna carry around pieces of paper?"
Me: "Sure, but they work with fiduciary money, not with cryptos"
Granny: let's turn on the oven

4. I'm cooking the choccolate cake you go crazy for

"Granny, I just finsched lunch!"

5. Granny Bitcoin vs Euros is like riding a horse vs driving a car

At the end of the day, you can get what you want, so you can have a new payment system. Is not that traditional payment is awful, but cryptos are better, likewise riding a horse was a good way of transport, but cars are far better. For example: Bitcoin and cars are faster and more reliable than bank trasfer and horses.

6. This time granny understood

To be honest, I'm not sure if she thinks I'm joking or she's taking me seriously. But thinking about it, in the last 60 years she have seen the coming of colored TV, the fall of a monarchy, the introduction of a republic of the European Union, she saw men going to the moon in 1969, she was here when the first civilian airplan went from Europe to America.

7. Granny may be more open-minded than I thought

Actually, the distinguish between people ready for a change and who is not, isn't really about the age: is about the interest.
So, it shouldn't be too difficult to make people to move from a fiduciary currency to crypto: the point is not how to convince old citizens, but is only about forcing the establishment to change.
And here is where we start to play.
