My introduction post, and a few cryptocurrency subjects from the perspective of a n00b.

Hello and good afternoon everyone! My name is Angel Class, ARMY veteran living in the state of Pennsylvania (Scranton for that matter). I work as a subcontractor with Field Nation. But enough about that, I’m here because I want to learn, I want to learn all I can about cryptocurrency, those intangible coins like @trevonjb calls them, and all I talk about lately with my father-in-law since he's the one that got me into this. Mikey (my father-in-law) buys and sells crypto and makes a killing at it, I've seen him gain $900 in minutes, but he's also told me he's lost a lot of money for being either greedy or not buying/selling at the right moment.

I'm looking for a more passive way, so I started doing research on mining. I had in mind going into cryptocurrency the mining way, and I've spent MANY hours doing research and watching many videos. I even looked into buying mining rigs and how to create your own mining. I saw a video on YouTube about a guy with 11 GPU's on 1 RIG! I was awed, but in reality, I don't have that kind of money to start with. I started doing research on cloud mining, because:
1 - GPU's are hard to find.
2 - Good GPU's are ridiculously expensive right now.
3 – Heat. Lot’s of GPU’s and CPU’s running 24/7, so you need a good cooling system.
4 – Noise. You’re gonna have a lot of fans running.
5 - Electric costs.
6 – I couldn’t find any info on the Bandwidth.
7 - Maintenance costs.
If a GPU card breaks down, go to #1 and #2 on this list. Also, this would be perfect if you have an extra room, preferably with A/C AND soundproofing, and the money to back everything up.

I've been spending the last 2-3 weeks immersed in YouTube, watching videos on cryptocurrency, mostly Trevon James, CryptoNick and Jerry Banfield amongst others. I kept hearing Trevon talking about Steem and Bitconnect, and I had no idea what it neither was so I kept doin research. I showed Mikey the videos on BitConnect, and he was amazed. He already knew what Steem was, even my mother-in law Perla knew, since she also invests frequently in cryptocurrency.

Up until today, this is what I've done. I've invested in Hashflare.io (a cloud mining site), and I have to this day 0.89 TH/s for SHA-256 and 2.5MH/s on ETH which gives me a whopping $1 a day... To be honest, I’m not sure if using Hashflare instead of Genesis was the right call. I went to Hashflare because it's cheaper, but for what I understand, Genesis-mining payouts are better, AND you can get more hashrate/BTC with referrals. I've seen videos of CryptoNick, 16 year old making a LOT of money on cloud mining, and watching Trevon James videos as he went inside the Genesis mining facility and his daily live videos and vlogs.

My only regret is not having this knowledge I have now about cryptocurrency when Mininova.org was on its peak, that was the first time ever that I heard about Bitcoin, and I didn't look into it.

While Mikey is the brain AND brawn, I'm more of a researcher. He's the one with the BTC's and I'm the one with the extra time. In the very near future, Mikey and I will invest in Bitconnect. Hopefully this journey will last long and be very prosperous! If you're still here, thanks for reading! -Macharelo

Welcome @marcharelo! Can't wait to see what you bring to the community!

Thanks a lot @frogtron! being completely honest, I still don't know what I'm doing, I keep asking questions around wherever and whenever I can. I know I'll keep whatching videos on what/what not to do on steem tho!
