Welcome to Mosaic’s official medium blog. Mosaic is a decentralized market intelligence network focused on developing and distributing research and market data on cryptoassets. Since 2017 we have been working hard to develop a platform which we believe will be game-changing for the crypotasset community.

While people are constantly flocking to cryptoassets — with between $4 to $6 billion in token sale capital raised in 2017 alone — this new asset class is missing reliable research and information that is both accountable and transparent. As a result, today’s cryptoassets purchasers make decisions based more on hype than on hard facts and rigorous analysis.

In contrast, other asset classes — stocks, bonds, commodities, real estate, national currencies — have well-developed research and information ecosystems. For example, 34 firms publish ongoing research on just Facebook’s stock alone. This context is dangerous for uninformed cryptoassets purchasers who may suffer devastating losses in a market crash and/or miss exciting long-term opportunities.

We believe the market desperately needs a trusted platform for research, information, and discussion of cryptoassets.

Cryptoasset investors face the following problems:

A lack of high-quality investment research on cryptoassets
A lack of sufficient coverage for research on cryptoassets
Misinformation about cryptoasset market data
A lack of transparency from current cryptoasset investment researchers (i.e. potential conflicts of interest)
Mosaic

Mosaic helps solve these problems by providing a decentralized market intelligence network. The Mosaic Network distributes research and market data through a user-friendly interface and is powered by Mosaic’s unique market intelligence protocol. Vetted Mosaic Analysts post research content (e.g., reports, articles, market updates, and discussions on cryptoassets); users read, discuss, and rate content and Analysts.

Mosaic Research Limited is the holding company that develops Mosaic’s technology platform and network of contributors. Contributors could be (i) full-time or part-time research analysts employed by Mosaic Research Limited, (ii) research analysts employed by other firms, or (iii) users. Incentives are tied to the Mosaic token (MZX) which is designed to reward both quantity and quality of contributions on the Network.

To access premium content, users must be Subscription Members. Token holders receive additional benefits in proportion to tokens held, including (1) voting for the cryptoassets and themes they want to see covered, (2) allocating votes to favored contributors, and (3) rating content. Content direction and compensation are tied to these voting and rating systems.

Roadmap

Over the next weeks, we will be publishing more details about the platform — our white paper, more short-form articles, as well as examples of research reports. We will be releasing a weekly email also. Our pre-sale begins in early/mid February for subscribers. Moreover, we intend for our platform to be live for early subscribers soon after the end of the pre-sale. We will post more details about further developments in the Mosaic network as soon as we can.
