SEC Chairman Jay Clayton waves in with a pretty comprehensive statement on cryptocurrencies and ICOs in my opinion.
tldr: Basically there are questions provided on how to identify good ICOs even though no ICOs have been registered w/ the SEC to date. Furthermore you should read the statement from the conclusion part. I like the openness regarding how the #SEC sees #cryptocurrencies and what they recommend in order to prevent being victim of scammy or fraudulent ICOs.
