Former Reality TV Editor, Ditches Pervs To Travel The World And Find Bitcoin
The room was dark.
The room is always dark.
It was Friday around 6 pm.
I worked 6 days a week...15 hours a day.
The balding pasty manager walked into my edit bay.
"Glenn, I'm going to need you to come in tomorrow."
"Ok" I said. What could I say?
3 years later, he was arrested for flashing some kids on the street.
Sick bastard.
The balding pasty perv walked out of my edit bay and shut the door.
I saw myself in the reflection of the computer monitor.
"I'm getting pretty pasty myself. I have to get out of here."
I worked in Hollywood for 11 years...
creating drivel for the masses...
...so I could buy more stuff and say I lived in a
cool neighborhood in L.A...
...where everyone was apparently much cooler than I was.
A friend got me into internet marketing.
I wanted to travel, get girls, help other people and get rich doing it.
I thought retweeting people on Twitter would get me there.
Dumb shit.
I eventually learned that I had to actually give value to people to make money online.
One thing I knew was video... so I started to help out some gurus who were clueless.
That was my ex-girlfriends idea.
It was the only good one she ever had.
Some of those gurus were pricks... probably still are.
I definitely learned some shit though.
Eventually, I figured out how to put some money in my pocket.
Spoke on stage, generated millions blah blah blah..
The U.S. is so boring. I had to leave.
I met some new friends while crossing the railroad tracks in San Diego.
2 months later I moved to Thailand for a 2 month trip.
I stayed 9.
We had similar internet marketing clients and were promoting the same products.
We taught people how to make money online.
Hollywood came out and shot a show about our lifestyle.
Here's the trailer
Thailand was fun.
The food and beach were great.
Lots of ladyboys.
That's not really my thing.
This kid I knew got caught up in all that though
I'm glad I didn't.
He was a pretty simple guy.
Said he figured it all out when she/he was going down on him...
...and said his name was Ben.
He was a pretty simple guy.
I went to Colombia and started an Influencer Marketing agency.
We worked with sports stars, celebrities, hotels, models etc...
Mostly we just did it to meet hot girls.
Colombians seem to value beauty over almost anything else besides family.
I lived there for almost 5 years.
I learned Spanish, that was cool.
Now I'm back in L.A. for a bit.
I might go back to Colombia for a bit or Prague but want to see Russia.
Hopefully, it doesn't get nuked but some power hunger government stooge.
If that happens, I don't want to be there.
I got into crypto about a year ago but was too busy to pay attention.
The thing that appealed to me was the big middle finger it gives to the establishment.
So I started to really get serious about it 6 months ago.
It's so fucking nerdy that a fairly internet savvy guy like me couldn't figure out how to get a damn Bitcoin after 30 days.
Then I realized that's what was actually cool about it in a way.
Kind of like a speakeasy type thing.
It's still so early, there's no way someone like my mom could figure it out.
That's kind of a problem for mass adoption.
I want to help fix that...
...and teach the average person how to get their first Bitcoin.
...because I know when I made that first transaction it was like magic.
For the first time in my life... it reminded me of that time in 1995...
...when I was in high school and sat down at my cousin's computer.
He showed me this thing called the internet.
It was new, limitless and kind of dangerous.
I knew then I was in the right place.
I know it again now.
