Analyzing the Overall Market Cap
I’ve been doing some analyzing of the overall market cap. It took 3 months from August to November 2017 for it to add 100 billion to the cap (went from 100 billion to 200 billion). Then it took only one month to add the next 100 billion (200 to 300) and then in December it went absolutely bat crazy and added about 300 billion in 3 weeks (good times if you were a part of it 😀). And then the first 2 weeks in January it added another 200 billion.
So, obviously that kind of growth was/is unsustainable. It’s no wonder it fell back down to 400 billion which is really where it should have been all along. I figure adding a 100 billion per month is a good figure especially when Bittrex opens back up to new users. By that measuring stick the market cap should be around 500 billion on February 1st and 600 billion on March 1st. (It’s actually at 520 billion right now, so we should expect it to drop to around the 500 billion mark).
Obviously, the problem is that some people bought in @ 750 billion market cap 😬. So, they probably will break even around April 1st. I know that stinks for everyone, but that’s a reasonable rate of growth. So, we might as well sit tight and wait. I and others jumped the shark and bought way ahead in the market cap. It’ll eventually get back to the 750 billion cap where we bought in, but it’s gonna take a little while guys and gals! Patience is a virtue, my friend 😉.
