Thanks for the warning! As you mention, these ransomware attacks keep evolving and getting more sophisticated. In the U.S., I've even heard of follow-up attacks from a separate group of hackers completely unrelated to the original ransomware hackers. They'll send out a fake "phishing" email, as if it came from a company that was known to be the target of ransomware. In this email, they'll then instruct you to head over to their website (also fake) to "protect you" (haha - right) and then ask you to provide your personal account details. In a worst-case scenario, they will then have (1) your personal data/info and (2) the ability to infect your computer with their own ransomware. Thus... even people not originally infected with Ransomware Variant A will now be infected with Ransomware Variant B... Be careful out there!
