OMISEGOTOKEN.COM - OMG AIRDROP?!?!

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

My dear Steemians, dear OMG holders, dear Crypto community,

What a great news!!!! Today on the twitter account @Omisewallet, OmiseToken is announcing an OMG airdrop. The posts says the Ethereum holders receive 9.7$ OMG for every Ethereum they have and 0.3$ OMG for every $OMG that they hold. The link takes you to the OMG website (or at least that is what you think) and asks for your Ethereum public key, amounts of ETH and OMG.

For now everything looks good, the excitement is enormous, especially if you hold OMG but what happens when they ask you for your private key?! WAIT? WHAT?

In every Beginner's tutorial you hear about a private key and as you can see by its name, it probably should stay PRIVATE. We all know we don't have to share our private keys, however, if we want more OMG, we are expected to do it.

That was actually the time, I got suspicious about the OMG Airdrop and started researching a bit more. And here is what I found:

5 REASONS WHY I THINK THE AIRDROP IS A SCAM:

REASON 1:
The website looks the same, you can easily see the interface and it is also the same, but the information is not!

FAKE

REAL

On the same place in both of the websites, there is different information given. Nowhere on the offical page you won't find a word about Airdrop, happening today.

REASON 2:

The post is re-tweeted by the same twitter account @OmiseWallet every few minutes... extremely strange, no likes, no comments, nothing.... another red flag..

REASON 3:

If the "followers" are something you check and might be some kind of proof the twitter is real, check all the other OMG accounts. The real twitter page of OmiseGo @Omise_Go has 88.1K followers, and the @OmiseWallet has only 8k.

REASON 4:

And if all of these was not enough, and you still believe you can receive your additional OMG, just check the Profile creation. We all know OmiseGo is quite new and I am pretty sure nobody have even thought about it in 2013. The account of @OmiseWallet is created in February, 2013 and that's one of the reasons I suspect, the page has even 8k followers.

REASON 5:
Think about it, guys, if there was something like Airdrop from the real OmiseGo, it would be on the official page, on Reddit, on Youtube, everybody will know the date and will be ready for it.. If there is not a single comment about it on the Internet.. it is probably a scam..

As a newbie in Crypto I cannot claim I know a lot, but when I find something or someone who is trying to scam the Crypto community, I feel the obligation to VOICE MY CONCERNS.

I hope guys, I have helped you to stay informed! Please also check and do your own RESEARCH!

Lots of love,
Denitsa ♥
