Ethereum $400 and OMG

Stat of the Day June 12.jpg

I was on Poloniex and was all like WOW. (At that time, it was $380 a coin for Ethereum.)

Then I saw the price go up toward $400 and thought I'd sneak over to Coinbase. AND...
ETH Coinbase June 12.jpg

Ladies and Gentlemen...Ethereum is up 2083% in one year.

Crap, people, I bought my own at $10 a coin. (Yes, I should have bought more. No, I'm not selling any time soon.)

What on Earth is Going On?

Actually, in the blog post over on Metacoin today, we talk a decent amount about THE FLIPPENING. Could market cap of ETH end up higher than market cap of BTC?

Holy crap.

(Oh, and if you HAVE all that ETH burning a hole through your pocket, you should probably protect them. Consider a Trezor. That's our Affiliate Link. Rock on. It's a cool product.)

Stay Safe. Stay Grounded. Go Crypto.

see a correction right now? following you

Yah, correction was almost immediately after my post. Ha!

I bet it comes back to $400 today.

it' happening now

Good news....there's still plenty of time to get into other investments similar to Ethereum.

Lisk and Stratis have similar technology, but are based on different programming languages. These investments have huge potential as they are currently only a few dollars each. I bought some and am holding for a year or two. If these can do what Ethereum has done, then I will be one happy camper!

Yup.

I've heard Lisk be described as "java for blockchain." I plan on studying it more thoroughly.

Stratis might be the most successful ICO in modern history: I saw that it's up 1293x vs its ICO price. So a grand on its ICO = $1,293,000 today.

Most people know how to buy ETH on an exchange.

Not enough people know how to actually use ETH and Ethereum by downloading the software

That's what's strange for me, they buy something even if they don't know how it works.... :) But that's investment for you.

Agree; though "buy what you know" vs. "buy what you know has the potential to be dominant here."

By that, I mean that I could be a fan of an industrial giant like GE without really knowing how aircraft engines and wind turbines work.

I have enough sense, though, to realize that ETH is an underpinning technology behind smart contracts AND a good chunk of the ICO token launches.

if someone wants to buy ethereum, what is your opinion? when should I buy? now or wait for a dip?

Opinion - and not to be misconstrued as trading advice, seek your own legal and accounting help, etc. - but I would accumulate and keep accumulating. Dollar-cost average.

One reason: ETH is being used as the basis/underlying tech behind so many assets. Massive adoption numbers.

I'm bullish. But cautious, too.
