Bitconnect promoters go to ground and deletes youtube videos
As the price of Bitconnect(BCC) continue to plunge, $US6.52 at the time of writing, prolific promoters of the Bitconnect lending platform goes to ground and deletes all of their Bitconnect videos made before and after the collapse of the lending platform.
Below are screenshots of the youtube pages for Cryptonick, Ryan hildreth, Craig Grant, Trevon James and Cryptochick.
CryptoNick
When the lending platform was still up, this youtuber boasted how he made over $US800,000 from the Bitconnect lending platform, no doubt mostly from affiliate commissions.
He used to have over an hundred videos on his channel, but now only 22 are left.
Ryan Hildreth
This youtuber boasted how he made millions with Bitconnect, again no doubt from affiliate marketing. He was involved with CryptoNick in peddling this $500 Crypto learning course, too bad they didn't have a module on ponzi or pyramid schemes!
Craig Grant
This is another prolific peddler of the Bitconnect lending platform, he even took out Google Adsense ads in order to promote the lending platform, encouraging people to sign up under him so he can get affiliate marketing commissions. He has deleted nearly ALL of his videos. At the time of writing, only 4 videos remain and he has been uploaded sporadically making videos available for only a day or two before deleting them on his channel.
Trevon James aka Trevon Brown
Unlike the other youtubers, Trevon has at least tried to address of the concerns of Bitconnect investors who has seen the value of their investments drop more than 90% since the lending platform collapse.
He continues to deny any responsibility saying:
his videos are entertainment, not financial advice, and
Bitconnect collapsed because of the cease and desist letters.
Cryptochick
She deleted all her Bitconnect peddling videos on the day Bitconnect collapse. After a few days she uploaded a video denying any responsibility saying she was a victim as well, but that video has since been deleted.
Multiple case action lawsuits has already been filed in the US. There is recent injunction handed down against Ryan Maasen and Bitconnect, ordering them to disclose all of their Cryptocurrency address within 10 days and not move any cryptocurrency assets without the explicit permission of the court.
Fortunately, the community is fighting back, deleted videos from these YouTube promoters have been re-uploaded and are currently being archived by Bitcoin Guerrillas and the Crypto Watch dogs (https://www.cryptowatchdogs.org/) Check them out.
Did you invest in Bitconnect? There is an explosion of lending platforms now, Davor, Lendconnect, Thorncoin to name a few, do you have any active investments in them? Maybe it's time to cash out!
wow
Cool. Not sure if it'll do much good though.
Main Bitconnect founders will probably disappear or they'd pull a brilliant scam only to stick around and face the consequences.
Youtubers can probably squeeze themselves out of it with a good lawyer and claiming they had no idea.
Not only that, by crashing the BCC token the way they did, there's no way anyone can possibly expect to get fair compensation for their losses.
Oh well. I don't want to be negative but, be realistic, don't get your hopes up too high. If you get some money back, great, but obsessing over it will only make things worse.
No one really knew who was behind Bitconnect which is a huge red flag! I doubt that many Bitconnect investors will get their money back, however I think those behind Bitconnect as well as its prolific promoters should be held to account. There should be consequences for their actions.
And then for those who haven't invested in Bitconnect but thinking of investing in other lending platforms, they should use what happened to Bitconnect to make them think twice.
I have outlined some potential strategies to make some money from the lending platforms that are still running, eg Davor, Lendconnect, Thorncoin, here, however those strategies are very high risk and most like result in losses.
