Smart companies will attack the closest threat, without cash they would dominant the money market for awhile. But eventually crypto will overtake because of all the control visa, american express, discover, etc has.
Not if they were smart mate. They would hold onto those coins for as long as possible to avoid having to pay tax on them (possibly, depending on local laws) and to profit from the general rising trend in the price of Bitcoin long term.

Interesting idea. What if a restaurant or business would only accept cryptocurrency instead?
Well, they would trade that cryptocurrency in a fast as they could if that was the case. No use in holding on to an asset that is so volitile.
