RE: Blockchain-based Messaging and Social Media

How does social media not go to the blockchain. It's a great market to be disrupted and the market leaders are way to beholden to shareholders. I don't slight them for this as they are required to do it by law, but the time has come to eliminate the trusted third party that is no longer adding value once data can be distributed and stored on the blockchain.

Steem is part of the effort to disrupt centralized social media platforms. I still enjoy low latency, named account, and password recovery services from popular platforms. Until blockchains provide these features I still think the twitters and facebooks of the world will enjoy their frothy positions.
