How I got started with Crypto Currency

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Crypto Currency was never a serious form of payment, to me, in the past. However, after multiple videos and chatting to a couple of people, I took the step into it.

I started off mining BTC until I realised what the fees were looking like. And they were not lookin' too pretty. I scrapped the BTC mining and made the transition to Zcash mining with the Equihash algorithm. I made about $1-$2 worth, per day, because I didnt do it 24/7 since I am a gamer. I used a GTX 970, for anybody wondering.

Earn.gg is a great site to use, also, because you get paid just for watching ads!

@CryptoNick was a massive help with my growing interest and upon reaching $30 of Zcash (Traded it to Litecoin) I made a purchase of 0.2 TH/s on Genesis Mining. As a way of supporting Nick, I used his code. This contract expired in, roughly, NEVER. I will recieve the $0.14 of LTC (I set it to payout in LTC) everyday aslong as the contract is profitable. By that, it means that aslong as I am earning enough to cover fees then I will be getting paid. Straight up.

Changelly has been a big help with everything so far and has been my main source of converting currencies due to it's low fee (0.5%, lower than Shapeshift).

After Genesis Mining, I've been experimenting with lots of sites and not much has happened:

  • Vix Ice: No longer paying out, invested about $9 into it. Never reached the minimum withdraw :(
  • Eobot: Building up my GH/s using faucets! Slow and steady wins the race!
  • HourPower.biz: Investment scheme! More information in a story to come! So far so good!
  • I've experiment with trading too, I'd say it went fairly successfully considering Litecoin's recent growth spurt.

I have gone from $0 of crypto currency to about $15 worth, currently. However I have invested some crypto currency into sites ($30 to Genesis Mining, $9 to Vix Ice, $2 to Eobot with the rest from faucets).

Thank you for reading my first Steemit story!
