# Blockchain Transforming Industries:Health-Care (Part 2)
Blockchain Transforming Industries:Health-Care (Part 2)
Businesses and the way we conduct them have been redefined with the advent of Blockchain, which is not just a revolutionary technology but carries the solution to many of the existential pitfalls plaguing myriad industries across the world.
In the previous part of Blockchain Transforming Industries:Health-Care, we looked closely at the ways in which the utilization of digital ledger of Blockchain technology could potentially disrupt the existing Health Care landscape.
Blockchain in Healthcare
Furthering this series, we look at some real-world Health Care solutions that have leveraged the power of Blockchain with an aim to offer innovative and exciting methods for participants of the Health Care industry to scale and streamline operations.
Doc.ai
Powering Health Care through Ethereum Blockchain and AI.
Personalized and intelligent healthcare, that is what Doc.ai intends to offer through an innovative and impactful AI (Artificial Intelligence) that is not only self-learning, but resourceful enough to offer advice and aid to patients by analyzing the multitude of health data stored on the platform built on Ethereum Blockchain.
Ali Health
Bringing Blockchain to the masses

Factom
Blockchain as-a-service in the healthcare domain
Offering Blockchain as-a-service (BaaS), this technology company has had a meteoric rise since it’s launch in 2015. Factum has its own native currency factoid, and its decentralized, open-source cryptocurrency platform allows developers to build applications on the Blockchain in a cost effective manner. Now looking to transform the Health Care landscape, the company received a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to create a medical record repository on the Blockchain.
These were just some of the ongoing innovations in the Health Care sector.
There are several industry heavyweights like Microsoft, Accenture, PwC, IBM that are developing solutions directed towards the Blockchain implementation in the Health Care industry.
Transforming the Health Care Industry
Health Care is a vast and crowded space, probably one of the world’s pivotal industries.
With the inclusion of the Blockchain system, we can expect a promising future in this domain with a system that is more robust, secure and transparent.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Blockchain is the most transforming technology ever since the Internet itself came into existence. Blockchain has been impacting lives and transforming industries at a frantic pace, with decentralization as its motto and transparency as its key, it is sure to revolutionize the existing industrial ecosystem in a big way.
Watch out for our next blog in the ‘Blockchain Transforming Industries’ series as we analyse another industry.

Healthcare is also a good field to adapt BlockChain in my opinion...
@adsactly Thanks, very informative post!
We all need advances in healthcare, longevity bio-tech more than we need apps like "angry birds". Lets hope with the blockchain growing, investment will go to better places! :)
I love how crypto and block-chain is changing all industries! It is so exciting and I am so happy to be apart of this industry this early on.
Yes, we are certainly early adopters considering the current and potential reach of Blockchain. Exciting times indeed!
I really think that the healthcare industry will be hit hardest by blockchain tech (in a good way!).
Very true @cryptostache ! Blockchain tech is going to revolutionize healthcare.
I think it has some potential as it's the first project I've seen in the healthcare sphere, which is obviously a huge market. Being the first in there is a huge advantage, no idea if their team can pull it off though. Would think of it as a high risk/high reward situation.
All the companies have great minds and innovative technology at their disposal, it wouldn't be wrong to assume we are in safe hands! :)
Any smarter ways to store and relay health information is very welcome. I'm still shocked when I have to fill out more forms at one branch of a clinic vs. another branch of a hospital THAT ARE THE SAME HEALTH COMPANY!! GIVE ME A BREAK!! ty / great post
Thank you! Yes, this is a welcome move by many in the healthcare fraternity and the use of blockchain will eliminate unnecessary paperwork and weed out inconsistencies among several other benefits.
I think blockchain technology entry in the healthcare industry is the next frontier. Medical data storage will be easily accessible in a more secure manner. Exchanging real time information will save many lives. It also means research findings will be easily shared across the globe fast. Thank you for your well researched post.
Yes, the vast possibilities are what make it exciting to see this technology being adopted. Thank you @gigpen!
How do you think integrating blockchain technology could fight against the price hikes medical care ha taken on since mandatory insurance?
Thanks for the info @adsactly!
Healthcare on Blockchain could benefit in cost savings in several ways - like saving cost on breach of data, saving on counterfeit drugs, elimination of fraudulent billing, and many more such benefits by adopting a transparent system. Hopefully, these savings will be passed on to the end users. We will see the actual results with real life implementation and trials.
Yes sir. The opioid epidemic in America is a prime example what happens without real checks and balances. Fraudulent billing is way out of control. It is endless how this technology can be the end of this corruption that has run rampant for so long. What an awesome way to take back our lives from the corrupt. Thank you Blockchain. Let’s make this work!
Blockchain is indeed the next big thing after the Internet.
It is good most people are adopting the blockchain technology.
When Jack Ma started Alibaba in 1999 many people scorned him and told him it will not work.
It is the same with blockchain now,but its good most people are adopting the technology.
Indeed it is @jaraumoses. Visionaries often face rejection and pessimism, yet they persevere and succeed. Blockchain is here to stay.
Its definitely something we need. Funny, one of our least cyber secure industries is healthcare, nevermind how we can streamline process and make things more efficient. The inevitability of blockchain will make Star Trek society a reality!! ... joking, not joking!
Our very own Starfleet medical professionals. Dreams do come true :) Thanks for the wonderful comment @satchmo
I think it is time to combine AI with blockchain in the realm of health, because now health issues are increasingly important over the times, humans sometimes forget the health factor. if AI technology exists, it can help humans, the technology could have been implanted in human or other watches...good post.. We wait about it in future..
Glad you enjoyed the post, and agreed - the potential benefits of combining AI with blockchain are massive. What Doc.ai are trying to achieve is innovative and appreciable.
