Build your own Bitcoin payment server with a Lightning nodesteemCreated with Sketch.

in #crypto3 years ago

Did you know you can accept Bitcoin payments with 0% fees and no third party? Would you like to become your own crypto paypal? Would you like to make your business more cutting edge, and catch the crypto wave of abundance? Making your own BTC Server is not for the fainthearted. I first came to this awareness while configuring my sphinx.chat server (a new web 3.0 social app that requires a lightning node). Why would you want to do this?

Benefits:
More Privacy
Less Fees
Less Government
More Freedom
Enable Web 3.0 apps

Fortunately for us there are options for deployment:

Virtual Hosting:

Option A: Deploy with a thirdparty. I recommend Luna node. It will cost about $15 a month but everything will be done for you. Be your own point of sale, store, and can even use it to crowdfund. In this video I show you what I did to host my own luna node BTCpay server. This is the easiest but when you involve third parties it decreases security. This is how I started but it is not my long term game. If you use this option please use my affiliate link: https://www.lunanode.com/?r=18463 or when you sign up use my promotion code: TATKMCC to get $20 in free credit and a free trial

Option B: Host it on your own VPS (virtual private server) like Google Cloud, Azure , or Docker. This takes more technical skills. I have used docker before and could probably do it, but I opted for simple version and will leap frog to building my own raspberry pi next.

Self hosted Hardware:

Option A: Host on premade pre configured plug and play machine. There are many options. I notice a lot of the time they are sold out, so get it while the getting is good! These average about $400-500, but it is probably way easier than what I’m going to do next below. Examples:

Option B: Get the parts for your own node, and install the software. I like this option because apparently I like a little pain, and will save a $100 bucks. You can still get a Pi but I notice these are sold out a lot as well. Parts list:
