You are absolutely correct on that. All eyes on the bitcoin, the newbies, me inclusive, love to buy bitcoin. I thought I was a noob till today when I have to explain to someone that had been on steemit for more than 3 months that there are 1300+ other cryptocurrencies. He was shocked at the stat. So, I believe many are like that and just content to buy into the media frenzy of bitcoin and forget other well-performing cryptocurrencies. People are quietly making 10x in some coins without the attention that comes with 30% move on the price of the bitcoin.
there is a learning curve in this space, as there's alot to learn - but it's an investment oftime in knowledge that pays extraordinary dividends... ;-)
While considering other alt-coins a sound investment option with your bitcoin appreciation, it may also be a good idea to be considering bullion. Gold and silver are and have always been safe places to store wealth. Buying precious metals while bitcoin is up could potentially payoff if/when there is a major correction. Turn your bits into gold and then your gold back into bits!
Isn't it exciting how much more valuable bitcoin has become over gold? :) Furthering proof that all value is subjective. If bitcoin is the pin to the dollar's bubble, I would reasonable expect to see a spike in the gold and silver markets.

...And I thought I was fairly smart... but that is so simple it's one of those things that make you feel dumb for not realizing.
