Simpsons Names Crypto as ‘Cash of the Future’

The Simpsons have jumped into the world of crypto!

The latest episode completely broke down the meaning of cryptocurrencies into an easy-to-understand explainer video hosted by ‘TV’s most beloved scientist’, Jim Parsons, and an all-singing Distributed Ledger.

Laying the foundation of blockchain technology, Parsons explained how once each ledger is filled, it’s then added to a chain of previous ledgers (or blocks). And the musical Ledger sang of the global possibilities of storing transaction information with blockchain technology.

The episode, titled ‘Frinkcoin’, celebrated crypto as the ‘cash of the future’, implying that eventually everyone will make the switch from fiat currencies to cryptopayments. However, this isn’t the first time The Simpsons has taken on the fortuneteller role. With accurate predictions for Trump’s US presidency, Germany’s defeat of Brazil in the 2014 World Cup, and Greece’s financial crisis, mass crypto adoption could be the next correct prediction from the show.

The future of mainstream cryptopayments seems incredibly promising. By offering merchants a low-cost, flexible approach to receiving payments, and providing crypto users with a secure, direct way to store and send virtual money, we're surprised that The Simpsons didn’t make this prediction sooner!
