Unconventional way of explaining why crypto will prevail

in #crypto6 years ago

This will help you gain a new insight, and also a new way to think about crypto and how it will be adopted!

Let's try to change our perspectives. For thousands of years, gold and silver was our medium of exchange (money, currency). When people FIRST started to transition using paper notes as a medium of exchange, do you really think it was adopted and accepted by everyone at first? PROBABLY NOT, I would have had LOTS of  doubts about this "new" pieces of paper that represents gold and silver, and "supposedly" afford me food, water, and anything gold and silver could.

However, people nowadays just accept and use fiat currency as it is, as we did not go through a transition period. Imagine when we grow up and have kids. They probably will have a smartphone and internet access. And if we have kids, we probably will teach our kids how to use cryptocurrency, digital wallets and ETC. They will probably grow up without questioning the legitimacy of cryptocurrency, just like we never did question our FIAT CURRENCY as we did not go through a gold to paper transition period. Am I making too bold a statement?

I also believe that as long as people believe that there is a value in cryptocurrency (backed with practical and rational reasons), there is a "real" value in cryptocurrency. Let's change our perspectives again! Gold did  not start a medium of exchange in all parts of the world. It started with some civilisations. Imagine there is civilisation A, which uses gold as a medium of exchange. And civilisation B, which uses rice as a medium of exchange. Most people in civilisation B will look at people in civilisation A and be like:

Wow, how the fuck do they use a yellow dirty pieces or rocks as a medium of exchange? Why don't they use rice, which can be eaten, used, and stored? Is there a "REAL" value in that yellow dirt?

Now, let's say gold has been found in the region of Civilisation B. Most people will probably think nothing of it, gold has not been used or discovered before. However, someone who has travelled to civilisation A before, will definitely take, or buy, or use whatever means necessary to OBTAIN as much gold as they can, as they know people in Civilisation A believe in GOLD, and thus it has value, even if people in civilisation B does not!!! Assuming people in civilisation A and civilisation B decided to get along, trade exists, and those who understand basic economics will realise that gold from civilisation B will slowly enter into the market of civilisation A. To encourage trade, Civilisation B will start adopting gold, whether they like it or not as people in Civilisation A believe in GOLD!!! Now, try applying it in the current situation we are in now. What do you think will happen to cryptocurrency with time, when the number of people  who use it as a medium of exchange grows?

In conclusion, Cryptocurrency has been around for nearly a decade now, and if it was as useless as many people claim (Warren Buffet, JP morgan, etc), I think that it would have disappeared by now. But, it seems like regulation towards cryptocurrency is slowly loosening, and governments are even supporting the development of cryptocurrency now. Everything is life is relative, and by changing perspectives, we can see that the transition we are going through now is not as different as what it was in our human history. I believe that as long as human civilisation still believe and use the concept of economics, cryptocurrency will prevail as the next generation of currency, with time to come. It just seems more suitable and fitting with the world now, where almost everyone uses internet and owns a smartphone!

WITH THAT BEING SAID, cryptocurrency is still very volatile, and I will not encourage anyone who is not familiar, or not able to take risks to invest into cryptocurrency. I also do not think that it will totally replace gold or fiat currency, but instead, cryptocurrency will be used along side Fiat currency in the near future. However, I do strongly believe that the value of cryptocurrency will be worth way more in the future, just like how theprice of gold slowly rises overtime. And while this might sound way too cliche, we just need to be patient and HOLD. Personally, I will be buying up some of the cryptocurrencies that I believe will be used in the near future, and storing them into my hard wallets, just as my grandfather has been buying and storing gold since the 1950s.

I wish everyone who read this post a good day, and hope this helped you guys. Please share, upvote, resteem and it would help me a lot.
