Can Bitconnect sustain payouts with its current business model?

Bitconnect seems to bring out the vitriol in its detractors.   One of their main points of contention is that it can't possibly continue paying out 1% a day on average while paying out the 7% referral fees.    This splendid video by Youtuber Jason shows just how Bitconnect makes their money.

    I don't think it is a sustainable business model. I am pretty sure it is just to gain enough traction ie reach a predetermined number of users/loans and the "promotional offer" would end
