Crypto currency revolution

Do we have a real revolution yet or something else is coming ? How decentralized is this supposed decentralized payment going to be 5 years from now when the government has our data from all the exchanges that have currently bowed to regulation. KYC has become a pressure on them. Will crypto truly be a mainstream payment solution if it continues to be treated as pump and dump trading commodities. Can we ever come to that point where they become true store of value in order to replace our Fiat ? So many things I wonder when I think about crypo
