An Entire Post on FUD? You've Got to be Joking!

Fear Uncertainty Doubt. Crypto is full of FUD and so is the whole financial marketplace, money governance and government operations too. If you want to survive then you must educate yourself.

The myths surrounding cryptocurrencies have been created by those whose either don't understand anything about blockchain technology or the more devious players who understand exactly what is going on. Both sides have one thing in common . . . they want to control their money by controlling what you do with yours.

Sounds scary doesn't it? Good because now you know why it is so important to learn how to tell the difference between the fact and fiction in all those stories circulated in the media.

The media has a job to do and it is to sell stories.

The click-bate headlines grab your attention by playing on your fears about anything and everything whether based on truth or not. They have deadlines and must put something out there in order to make money. Explaining the price swings in back in December 2017 caused a massive influx of theories to be published. Any facts were twisted to suit the needs of the publishers. https://cointelegraph.com/news/how-mainstream-media-inaccurately-explain-bitcoin-price-movements

Another important issue when considering the validity of information is to follow the money. Reputable journalists will disclose affiliations but this is not guaranteed. Sites make money because of advertisers and/or selling customer data to third parties. https://www.economist.com/news/special-report/21615871-everything-people-do-online-avidly-followed-advertisers-and-third-party Media companies are often subsidiaries of companies who are then owned by other companies . . . which create a web of interconnected priorities and personnel. https://www.coindesk.com/editorial-policy/ Investments are made based on the knowledge of what gets published or not.

The most dangerous actors purposely create false stories and manipulate the truth.

Spin doctors have years of experience of getting you to believe things that are simply not true. Lobbyists have enormous sums of money and connections to fabricate whatever story is necessary to move forward their agendas. Every industry includes multiple entities ready to do anything to win.

The other side of the battle lies with those who do not understand anything about blockchain technology. Since childhood, we have been spoon fed certain ideals surrounding FIAT currency, money supply and national pride. Those who simply regurgitate rumours and heresy without validating sources or conducting independent investigation are destined to be nothing more than obedient members of society.

Does this mean that everything is corrupt? It depends on who you ask.

Bottom line is do your own research. DYOR

How do you start to understand what it the truth? First, you must be patient with yourself. Learning about crypto means that many ideals which you have long held will be challenged. This is unsettling for many. Unlearning something creates a void and you must be careful how that void is refilled. Do not make assumptions about anything. Try multiple sources. Talk to real people. Ask questions. And most of all be brave. You will make amazing discoveries simply by being open to new ideas and methods. Change is hard but remaining the same is not worth it any more.
