If you’re new to crypto, you’ve probably seen messages like:
“Double your Bitcoin today!”
“Send me 0.1 ETH and get 1 ETH back!”

😬 Yeah, I’ve seen them too. And when I started, I almost fell for a few of them.

In this post, I’ll show you 7 must-know rules that help protect your crypto, your wallet, and your peace of mind.

  1. 🚫 Never Trust “Free Money” DMs
If someone messages you out of nowhere promising giveaways, they’re lying.
Real giveaways don’t ask you to send crypto first.

  2. 🔐 Keep Your Seed Phrase OFFLINE
Your seed phrase (12 or 24 words) is the key to your wallet. If anyone gets it, they take all your coins.

✅ Write it down on paper.
❌ Never store it in Google Drive, WhatsApp, or screenshots.

  1. 📧 Watch for Fake Websites & Emails
Scammers make fake versions of real websites like “crypt0.com” or “binance-giveaway.xyz”. Always double-check the URL. Bookmark trusted links.

  2. ❌ Don’t Click Unknown Airdrop Links
Lots of scammers post fake airdrops that steal your wallet info when you connect.
Use trusted airdrop trackers like CoinMarketCap or Layer3.

  3. 🛡️ Use 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication)
Enable 2FA on your wallets and exchange accounts.
Use an app like Authy or Google Authenticator, not SMS.

  4. 🧠 If It Sounds Too Good to Be True… It Is.
“No risk, high reward” is the oldest lie in crypto.
Scammers love to promise riches fast — but real crypto wealth is built over time.

  5. 💬 Ask Before You Act
If you’re not sure about something, ask someone you trust.
You can DM me or comment below. I’ve been through a lot and I’ll tell you straight.
