Cryptid Hunter Was Labeled a Scam on STEEM Blockchian

in #cryptidhunter2 days ago (edited)

Cryptid Hunter is an idle card game with real-time mining, launched on the STEEM blockchain.
While the project achieved measurable success on the TON blockchain,
it has been labeled a “scam project” on STEEM.

In the STEEM Witness communication channel, dozens of criticisms and mockery were directed at Cryptid Hunter.
Interestingly, most of these criticisms were completely unrelated to the game’s actual content or features.

Summary of Witness Criticisms

  1. They haven’t actually played the game.
  2. They encountered some frontend UI bugs.
  3. There’s no tutorial.
  4. Cryptid Hunter sold STEEM.
  5. Cryptid Hunter clicked a like emoji on its own post.
  6. They asked if we sold STEEM to buy NOVA.
  7. Complained that it earns less revenue than TON.
  8. Claimed we demanded extra funds for fixing bugs.
  9. Accused us of launching the project just to profit as a Steemit curator.
  10. Claimed the game doesn’t work on mobile.

I Was Shocked by These Conversations

Anyone even slightly familiar with Cryptid Hunter would instantly see that most of these claims are either incorrect or completely irrelevant.

We Never Denied the Bugs

Cryptid Hunter is currently in its first month since launch.
Yes, there are a few bugs — and we’ve openly communicated this to users.
We’ve published multiple announcements explaining that core features are still under development and being patched.

Yet the questions and criticisms raised in the Witness channel rarely relate to actual bugs, and instead shift the focus to off-topic personal attacks.

They Didn't Even Play the Game

  • Some Witnesses only clicked a few buttons after logging in.
  • Some couldn’t even log in on mobile and gave up.

They evaluated the game based solely on UI impressions, without any real understanding of the game systems or economy.

Selling STEEM = Scam?

We sold some STEEM to fund Cryptid Hunter’s development.
This is now being used as a reason to call us “traitors” or claim we’re running a scam.

We ask:
What does selling STEEM to fund development have to do with the quality of the game?
These reactions are not based on logic — they are emotional labeling without evidence.

The “Like Emoji” Controversy

A Witness accused us of “manipulating our reputation” because we clicked a like emoji on our own post.

This is beyond childish.
It’s shocking that someone labeled as a Top Witness on STEEM is seriously making this kind of argument.

Instead of focusing on the game or its features, they are more concerned with personal opinions, feelings, and imagined intentions.

Comparing TON Revenue = Complaining?

We launched Cryptid Hunter on both the TON and STEEM blockchains.
We shared the performance difference — not as a complaint, but as a reflection of the current limitations of STEEM, and to emphasize the need for change.

Still, some Witnesses twisted this into,

“They’re greedy developers complaining about not making enough money!”

Funny thing is, we told the Korean community:

“We do not recommend buying card packs. Enjoy the game and earn rewards by being active on Steemit.”

Even the price of card packs on STEEM is half of what it is on TON.
How is that greed?

Curator Revenue? We Gave It All Back

Yes, we were selected as curators.
But we returned all curation rewards to users.

We could have easily written daily posts to farm revenue for ourselves — but we didn’t.
All we did was publish one report per week and share feedback on STEEM’s issues.

Despite this, they claim,

“You only became a curator to make money!”

DAO Funding for Bugs? False Narrative.

Another false narrative:

“Cryptid Hunter is requesting DAO funds just to fix bugs.”

Here’s the truth:
We did not apply for DAO funding for bug fixes.
We simply shared an idea in the community that additional features like PvP, Emblems, Guilds, Roulette, etc. would require funding in the future.

That comment was twisted into “they’re begging for money to fix bugs.”

Here’s a list of what we proposed to build in the future:

  • PvP System
  • Emblem System
  • Guild System
  • Roulette System
  • Lottery System
  • Expansion Packs

In Conclusion: They Didn’t Play, But They Judge

Based on a few minor bugs and without even playing the game,
some Witnesses declared Cryptid Hunter a trash project — or even a scam.

Because we shared that TON generates more revenue than STEEM,
they call us greedy and accuse us of trying to undermine STEEM.

We Came to Promote STEEM

Cryptid Hunter was built specifically to introduce users to the STEEM blockchain and Steemit platform.
We never expected major revenue here, nor did we build it for profit.

But given the attitudes and behavior of key Witnesses —
and the hostility this ecosystem shows toward developers

We no longer see any reason to continue supporting STEEM through Cryptid Hunter or Cryptid TCG.

This is the unfortunate reality of the STEEM blockchain.
