@olmech, we are really sorry to see you go. As you’ve requested through this post, your entry has been officially withdrawn from Cryptails #1. However, I would like to bring your attention (and the attention of your audience) to some facts:
On our last update about the contest, we clearly stated that it would take us a couple of days to announce the winners and provide feedback to all contestants. One of the cornerstones of Cryptails is to provide useful feedback and make a fair assessment of every entry, so we can’t provide results immediately. Our final decisions regarding the winners, however, will be made public on schedule.
The follows/un-follows of our personal accounts have absolutely no bearing on the way we assess the entries, nor does it affect our final decision. However, I would like to point out that we never followed you in the first place, since we don’t necessarily follow all contestants. To confirm this claim, please refer to the follower history of your account. You can do so by following this link.
Transparency and open communication are essential to us, that’s why we’ve responded to every single question made on all the posts about the contest in a direct and timely manner. If you had any concerns about the timeline of the contest, you could have voiced them in any of our threads and we would have responded immediately.
Finally, I’d like to end on a personal note:
Encouraging people to stay away from Cryptails while deliberately insulting us and implying that we’ve abandoned the contest is gratuitous and categorically false. Such attitudes are tremendously detrimental to the very writing community we should all be striving to foster.
If you believe any of the claims I made is unfair or false, please feel free to discuss it. As always, we are permanently open to dialogue.
Best of lucks,
Jean
I do apologize. I have edited the post to acknowledge my misunderstanding of the rules as well as my failing memory.
It’s alright, @olmech ! We actually appreciate the opportunity of having this conversation. We would have preferred to do so in a less confrontational context, nonetheless, we will always approach every concern from our contestants with respect and transparency.
That said, if you would like to re-enter your story into the contest, please let us know. Rest assured, this misunderstanding will not affect our assessment of your work in any shape or form, nor your eligibility to participate in this or any of our future contests. Our doors are always open for everyone!
All best,
Jean
