Crowd-incubation for growth in the Steem ecosystem: Developer Delegation Day #9

in #crowd-support6 days ago (edited)

Tomorrow, May 5th, is our 9th Developer Delegation Day after the idea's inception last August.

In case you haven't seen it before, the idea behind Developer Delegation Day is to provide independent decentralized support for Steem's development ecosystem. Here's a summary from the original post:

On the 5th of each month, community members will delegate 5 STEEM Power (SP) to a Steem developer of their choice. This regular support helps sustain and incentivize the developers who will become the backbone of the Steem ecosystem.

The idea was inspired by subscription programs on platforms like Patreon, Substack or 𝕏, where content consumers pay a small monthly subscription price to support their favorite content producers. The 5 SP amount was suggested in order to make it easily affordable for most Steem participants. In comparison to the subscription programs on other platforms, delegations on Steem have the additional advantages that they continue to accrue interest for the delegator and that they can be returned to the owner at any time.

I'm posting a day early again due to scheduling constraints, so I've already made my delegations for May 5th.

Here are my previous delegations:

And here are today's updates. As with last month, since prices are low, I'm increasing my delegation amount to 10 SP.

Here are the updated totals:

Who's going to join me in crowdsourcing a new, independent, and decentralized mechanism for support of the platform's developers?

Thank you for your time and attention.

As a general rule, I up-vote comments that demonstrate "proof of reading".

Thanks again, but you are a little early this month ;-)

Yep. I'm not sure if I'm going to have time for writing a post tonight/tomorrow, so I delegated and posted early this time.
