God's principles (are to be applied)

It is not enough to just read the word of God, if we want to see God act, we must put His word into practice.
Do good to your servant; let him live,
And keep your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may see
Wonderful things in your law.
19 I am a stranger on the earth;
Do not hide your commandments from me.
20 My soul is broken from longing
For your judgments at all times.
21 You rebuke the proud, the cursed,
Who turn aside from your commandments.
22 Remove reproach and contempt from me,
For I have kept your testimonies.
23 Princes also sat and spoke against me;
But your servant meditated on your statutes,
24 For your testimonies are my delight
And my counselors.
Psalms 119:17-24
Following the basic principles is not limited to just listening to the word, believing and applying it in our lives, it is generally misinterpreted believing that this is the only way, we leave aside the fact of discovering, exploring and meditating on the word before acting.
When we talk about exploring and meditating on a biblical principle, we are talking about studying the word of God to understand not only literally what it says, we must know the context of what we are reading, through all this we can understand what is the lesson that God wants for our lives, through the Holy Spirit we will have the revelation of what God wants for us through that word, it is not simply listening to believe and apply since we must understand and believe in a rational way understanding that God will act according to our faith in what he is revealing to us. When we meditate deeply on the word of God, our hearts soften, our minds become more refined and aligned with the thoughts of God, every erroneous idea and doctrine that was overshadowed by the revelation of the word of God.
As we put this into practice, meditate, ruminate, explore more and more of the word of God, all that word takes shape and life, it becomes real in our lives. We discover little by little how this works and how we apply it to our lives.
There are times when we have very little to say about what God does in our lives, surely it is because we are not applying the word of God, we are not applying the biblical principles, just hearing does not mean that we have appropriated that concept or truth.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues therein, not being a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.
James 1:22-25
