Where I live things are a bit different:
Here, when a woman hits me, I have to take it calmly. If I were to hit back I am a violent monster. I have to be strong all the time because women here need constant emotional support. At least a week out of the month many women here go completely crazy and somehow that is alright. But help God if I go crazy once in reaction to all that irrationality thrown at me!
Here women own their bodies. If she wants an abortion, she can kill my child and I have no say, but if she decides to keep it, I have to pay.
In case of separation, women take the children, the house and the money.
So thank you for reminding me that in other places things are different. I wish you much strength to handle being a woman in Africa!
