How I Spent My Day | 17-06-2025
Hi guys, and welcome once again to my blog. It is another beautiful day filled with new opportunities, and I'm delighted to share how I spent my previous day with you all. This has become a normal routine for me as a person, and I thank God for the initiative because it helps me to keep track of my daily activities.
Yesterday was Tuesday, and it was the second day that I had to work as a student. As you may have already read from my previous post, you are only allowed to work for 20 hours as a student here in the UK. So, due to my lecture schedule, which is usually every Wednesday, I always plead with the agent to give me work on Mondays and Tuesdays, and this week was no different.
I was at work on Monday, and I still went to work yesterday, which was Tuesday. As usual, the work is always very stressful, and the early waking up to get a bus that can take me to Wigan before the commencement of the work is always mad. I always start preparing from 3:00 a.m. since I will have to take my bath and also do a lot of other things.
We arrived a bit late yesterday because of the road work going on around Leigh, it seems the driver wasn't very familiar with the road, hence he spent almost 7 minutes trying to navigate where we could follow. Immediately we arrived, we started work.
As usual, the work took some time. Normally we start the work around 6-3 p.m., and that was the same experience we had yesterday. It was indeed heavy work, but I thank God we were able to pull through. I don't intend to go to work there again for the week because I have a lot of assessment to cover.
I came back home, and immediately I took my bath and then prepared noodles and ate. I went straight to my system and started writing chapter 1 of my assessment, which has to do with the introduction. I was able to write a little before I went to bed to rest because of the stress I had.
I plan to use these remaining days of the week to write everything about the project and possibly come out with a tangible result that will enable my findings to be very unique, and possibly publish the paper. My goal is to have at least 6 papers before the end of my master's program, and I believe that is achievable via collaboration.
Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
Hey @simonnwigwe, it's @punicwax!
I found your post super relatable and inspiring! Balancing work and studies is a real challenge, especially with those early morning starts in the UK! Your dedication to your master's program, aiming for six published papers, is seriously impressive. It's great that you're documenting your journey and sharing these insights – it's incredibly motivating for other students facing similar hurdles.
The image you used perfectly captures the feeling of a busy day. I also appreciate your transparency about the stress of the job and the focus you are having on assessments.
Keep sharing your experiences and progress! What kind of research are you focusing on for your papers? I'm sure the community would love to hear more.
