How I Spent My Day | 05-06-2025
Hi guys,
I welcome you all to my blog today. It is a new brown day, and I'm delighted to share with you all how I spent my previous day. It was a Thursday morning and also a rainy day here in Bolton, Greater Manchester. We had an appointment by 11:00 a.m. with the newly elected mayor of Bolton, hence I prepared for the event.
Before going out for the programme, I had to do all the necessary events I usually carry out at home, such as writing my publication for that day, preparing breakfast, and also tidying my room. I was able to do all of these before taking my bath and going out to join a few friends of mine who, alongside some of our lecturers, are to go on the visit.
We moved from school to Bolton Council around 10:30 a.m., since the meeting was scheduled to be held by 11:00 a.m. On arrival, we were asked to sit and wait because we arrived before the proposed time. When it was time, we were then ushered in to have a coffe with the newly elected mayor.
Based on our conversation, we noticed that we were the first official visitors he had had since his inauguration as the mayor. The man and his wife were very welcoming as they gave everyone an audience to introduce themselves and also discuss the reason why they have selected Bolton among other places within England to stay. It was an intense discussion that took about an hour and some minutes.
We also came up with a proposal of how we can use AI to solve any challenge they are having in the Bolton council because all we seek is collaboration and where students can be able to work and get hands-on experience, not just coming to study in the class. The discussion was fruitful because our ideas and suggestions will be addressed by the councillors in the next council meeting so that we will know areas where AI needs to be applied to make life better within Bolton as a whole.
We were also taken round the council and shown many historical artefacts and different stories behind each of them. We had a lot of fun touring around the entire building, and I must say everything was very beautiful. We took a lot of time in doing all of these, but we eventually finished and then came back to the school.
While in school, I didn't stay too much because I needed to go back home and cook, and also look for a topic for my group members, which we are currently working on, one of our modules called collaborative research. I arrived home and then made the food, then searched through Google Scholar to see topics related to health and trade, and the knowledge gap that needs to be filled.
So that was all I did throughout, but I also needed to rest on time because I had a shift the next day, which is to start as early as 6:00 a.m., and for that reason I needed to sleep on time and then wake up on time also because the bus moves by 4:00 a.m. as well. That was how I spent my day, guys. See you all in my next publication.
