Ashy Slashy Cross Stitch!
A year ago today I made my Ashy Slashy puppet cross stitch!
As a celebration of my fibery hell-spawned creation, let's take a look at the process!
So I had just watched Season 2 of Ash Vs. Evil Dead. That was when Ashy Slashy the PUPPET made an appearance and I fell in felty-fuck love. So how was I going to immortalize him?
In the best was possible.
Old lady crafts, of course.

Naturally, there weren't any patterns for him, being a brand new show. So I had to get creative and make my own.
And I had to do it the old fashioned way.

By drawing it out. On Graph paper.
And an artist, I am NOT. However, I was inspired enough to muster all of my pixel making skills to create this dude.

I then spent hours, and I do mean HOURS, matching up all of the colors so I had a cohesive color scheme. You have to make sure they are all in the same "family" of shades or else it comes out looking... just fucked up. There is no other way to put it.
And once that ordeal was done... It was time to start THE FUN PART!

Total time from conception to finished creation, it took me about a week. (Keep in mind that I was binging Evil Dead stuff at that point so you have to account for distraction!)
Once more, the finished product to tie it all together!
