Is the democracy best option for a country?

In my opinion , Democracy is democracy is the best option for a country. Democracy is the form of government in which people elect their representatives by the term adult franchisee. It means the citizens above the age of 18 have the opportunity to participate in the election . The definition given by Abraham Lincoln states clearly that ‘democracy is a government “ of  the people, by the people , and for the people”. In democracy, people have the right even to raise voice against rules set up by the government.

In democracy, the government works at three levels. Namely central government, state government and local government. In local government people get opportunity to mingle with government. In India , local government consists of panchayat, municipality . Gram sabha is contacted by panchayat fulfil the need of citizens and make a solution in their problems. It also assigned to planning, implementation and monitoring the rural development programs.

In some areas local government is more active and they bring up with new ideas. In Kerala , especially my village , panchayat introduce many programs for the betterment of the people. Kudumbashree is the best example of that. This enables a freedom for women in many activities like self employment, farming , and 'Thozhilurappu schemes to get daily job. It is possible only because India follow democratic form of government. One of the main efforts made by my panchayat to make it a garbage free panchayat is also a great achievement.

What makes a democratic government the best form of government.? 

There are some reasons why democracy is the better option. It involves consultation and discussion. 

1. A democratic decision always involves it's people. Thus democracy improves the quality of decision making.  
2. Democracy provides a method to deal with differences and conflicts
3. It also enhance the dignities of citizens.
4. It brings up unity in diversity.
5. This forms of government also help us to correct government's mistake.
6. In democracy , all people are able to play equal status . And they participate in decision making. 
7. People have the right to get equal information , based on education, equal resources and lot more.

All the above features differentiate democracy from other form of government. Other forms especially monarchy and dictatorship only one party rule and people don't get opportunity to take part in decisions making.after all non Democratic governments will not given power to participate in ruling .it's only in democracy, people's active participation in politics take place.
