Motovlogging gone to the bin...

in #corrupt6 years ago (edited)

According to Wikipedia it clearly states that "A Motovlog is a type of video log recorded by a person while riding a motorcycle or any motorized vehicle.A rider who creates video blogs known as a motorcycle blogger, and the action of making motovlogs is called motovlogging."

Now In India,Anyone with an action camera fixed to their helmet are termed as Motovloggers (even if they record just for fun) BUT there are some Dudes who in the Name of YOU TUBE upload shitty Motorcycle Content.
What is a Motorcycle Review?
As per my knowledge,Firstly A Review is done by professionals and not by a wannabe kid who gets all erected when there is a new bike launched in the country. If you get turned on by revving a superbike in traffic then i'm sorry, you have absolute Zero Motorcycle Ethics.
Now What do i mean by All this??
Before i tell you what my problem is there are few questions that need to be answered!

1.WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR SHITTY OPINION?

Definitely not everyone.
BUT there are some special cases,Unfortunately there are millions of people who do give a fcuk about your opinion and that's why you think you're doing a great job. Some Hate your opinions and some jerk off to it and some sad souls support you because they are your "friends"
Is Motovlogging Wrong?
HELL NO
I LOVE MOTOVLOGGING it's a powerful way to share the knowledge on anything you are passionate about.
What bothers me are these reviews that make no sense!

2.ARE YOU AN EXPERT?

This is something you need to ASK YOURSELF.
Motorcycle Riding is an art in itself,Everyone knows this. But what you probably don't know is that Motorcycle Riding has a vast array of Science involved. So,if you think Bangalore roads or any Indian Highway is enough to get to know how the Suspension works then I guess you need to be in place of Henry Johansson, In case you don't know who this is,He is the CEO of Ohlins.
All the kids who are watching probably won't have a single idea on what preload, rebound damping means let alone your self created terms such as the rear is soft and the front harder than what you've previously ridden.
There is a reason why Manufacturers invite "PROFESSIONALS" to test their extreme machines in a Controlled Environment.
If what you do is "Cornering" on a long winding road on a highway with traffic then what do you call Sagar Sheldekar doing his thing on a Ducati 1299 Superleggera in one of the most iconic GP tracks.
Lets just say you are NOT AN EXPERT!

3.ARE YOU CAPABLE OF DOING SOMETHING BETTER?
HELL YESS!!
With some more effort and dedication you could be the best,But NO you prefer Motorcycle Reviews and that sucks.
You can of-course kill it or ace it with Motovlogging BUT making Reviews can ruin your reputation in the long run.
Some people have crossed a Million Subscribers just by quitting Motorcycle reviews and finding their own thing to deal with.

4.LET'S GET PERSONAL! SHALL WE?
If you follow international Motovloggers like Chase on two wheels,I'm sure you love that guy for the extraordinary cinematics. Now Chase has a series called "First Rides" I'm sure you are aware of this,In this series he tells how he feels on the bike and that's what i really appreciate.
But in India we have this trend where young kids take TEST RIDES for less than 2 km on a brand new Motorcycle and come up with a title that says "TEST RIDE REVIEW".
These so called YouTubers have no clue what a review is and the sad part is people who actually put in effort into Motorcycle videos get no recognition whats so ever.
If you wanna know how the bike feels get your a$$ up and go take a freak-in test ride rather than believing some random dude in YouTube who has the IQ of a Cucumber.
Motorcycle Reviews are great if done by Pros and its a disaster if done by noobs.

5.WHAT IS THE FUTURE?
The Future of Motorcycling is great in India with so many manufacturers taking the Industry seriously. On the flip-side we have our ''PRO YOU TUBERS''(not really) who do anything and everything for the views and pathetic quality content. The only way to minimize this misery is to STOP GIVING A FUCK TO THESE YOUTUBERS.
Let me be clear here,I am not quoting names here!If you come across such you-tubers please don't make their shitty content famous,Rather support youtubers who actually put in some quality time and effort in their videos.

6.NUMBERS ARE AN ILLUSION!DON'T GET FOOLED!
A Youtuber with 100k Subs might have the most shittiest videos in a period of 2 years and A Youtuber with 30k subs might have the most fantastic content out there in a period of 3 years. Please stalk their accounts and then Subscribe,IF you're learning something valuable and increasing your knowledge on Motorcycling from that Youtuber please support him till the end ,But if you find someone abusing the motorcycle hit the UNSUBSCRIBE button immediately,You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

7.VERDICT
There are so many youtubers out there that it becomes super hard to find the best ones,But we can help them by putting the spotlight on them and removing the false fame these selfish youtubers have.
You wanna do a Motorcycle Review?Great
But before you jump into that,See how creative you can become on making the video standout, don't just read the specs because we have Google and Dino's Vault for that, who give us way more information than your Silly reviews!
And Ride and Learn about tons of Motorcycles only then you are actually capable of making a review.Until then keep recording whatever the Fcuk is happening on the way to your office or college.

Haters gonna Hate.
