It's time!

Finally the day has come, everybody had been waiting for it for more than 3 weeks. On early this month, after company decided to license out one main brand, we were told that we will experience re structuring. With smaller business, company doesn’t need as many employees. But maybe the decision to license was made too rush, company couldn't finalize the organization when they announced the news. No specific date was given for when the restructure will happen, other than a date for licensee to officially take over the brand, so was name and quantity. Since then, everybody had been waiting, and finally it is time.

When we just heard about the news, as you can tell there was all different kind of mix emotions. People had different ways to process the news. Some took it well, some not as well. But one common feeling was why company would have treated their employees like this, why didn't they just tell us one way or another right away?

Moral was low, many people had been in checked out mode. Some tried to fight for their destiny at the company by approaching other brands and telling senior leadership team what they've been doing for the company and the values they have brought. Few continued to focus on what they can do and control and stayed positive.

The date finally came today. Everybody received a meeting invitation and called into the meeting room in the early morning. The meeting was short. The announcement was clear and precise, we were told it will be done as quickly as possible by early afternoon. Everyone went back to their seat and mindlessly waiting. The heart's been pounding nervously, wishing the phone on the desk didn't ring… Office was dead silent with some very low whispering. The sound from AC today seemed to be a lot louder. People tended to stay calm, after few weeks of waiting, you would have had imagined that you are mentally ready. Still didn't want to believe it's happening. I wished they could have had handled it in a different way instead of getting everybody to go through the painful experience.

All was done fast and quietly as we were told by noon. Good luck with my dear friends and colleagues who were affected today. We will remain as friend and continue to help each other as much as we can. As tough as it is today, life must go on. People are afraid of change, regardless it's at your will or not, things happen. Sometimes, the change forces you to walk out from your comfort zone, that's where your life starts to change and evolve. Change is hard, but could be good. You may suffer from short pain, but who knows what new door has opened when this one is closed.

Hang in there, my dear fellow friends. Always think positively and be strong.

Thanks, the over cloud kinda reflected what we went through today. But all will be fine again as we know the Sun will continue to shine tomorrow.

The view is amazing.

Thanks, glad you like it.

You write like its a book, I must applaud you
What I think is that, change is constant. And to always win it every change must be seen as good change regardless of the events that follow it, just watch out for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks. I like your point. Like it or not, change happens. What we can do is to focus on what we can control and always try to be one step at ahead.
