1774 Edition of The Art of Cookery by Hannah Glass
Hannah Glass is an important author & one of the best selling cookbooks in 18th Century. Originally published Dublin 1847 & sold through subscriptions & Mrs. Ashburn's China Shop . 40 editions were to follow. She was plagued with plagiarism, & thus would sign front page in ink.
The Art of Cookery appeared in colonial libraries of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson & Ben Franklin appeared & well loved by general public.

1754 she was bankrupt & 1757 she spent 6 months debtors prison. In 1755 she published her last book,
The Compleat Confectioner. She passed away September 1, 1770
Today it is used as historical reference.
