Show Off Your Powers of Deduction - 1 Steem Prize - No Upvote, Resteem, or Follow Required!
Inspired by @makowrites's post, I would like to invite you to show off your powers of deduction, Sherlock Holmes style. I think this is a great idea for a challenge and have participated in @makowrites's post - I encourage you to do the same!
This is how it works:
- Post a detailed comment below with as much information as you can gather after studying the image below. What do you see? What can you piece together about where/what/why/who/how?
- That's it! In line with the philosophy of @contestkings, no upvote, resteem, or follow is required. I encourage you to check out the good folks at @contestkings!
- I'll award the best answer the prize.
- Deadline - all entries will be accepted until the seven day payout period closes.
Prize
- 1 Steem
Here’s the image:
What country is this photo taken it? Can you narrow down the city? What about the neighborhood? What about the exact location? What's up with that bunny thing on the wall? What is it doing? Is it a good bunny thing or an evil bunny thing? You get the idea!

I love this, and this one is harder due to the fact that I can't tell if you took it. Hmmm.
Okay. I'm afraid I'm not going to measure up to your skills but here we go.
I was initially thrown off by the banner hanging in the bottom right of the frame because it's not in traditional Thai as far as I can tell, but I was thrown back on track by Alex Face's graffiti work, which I actually happened to study for English 1101 back in college. So that likely places this image in Bangkok, Alex Face's stomping grounds.
(Not so much deduction as knowledge, the child's name is Mardi- a character he frequently paints in murals depicting social activism.)
The lack of sunlight in the courtyard means a low-angle sun. That places this in either mid-morning or late afternoon.
This one's a long-shot, but the stairway kind of reminds me of either a stadium or a public-transit station. The fact that it's not busy but still being used + the businessman walking down them makes me think it's probably public-transit, though.
That's all I can pull from it without resorting to Google to confirm my assertions and get more information, so well done! Can't wait to see what others say about it.
EDIT: I just visited your profile to follow you and I noticed that you're in Bangkok, which means three things:
Cheers!
~ Mako
Awesome intuition, thanks @makowrites! I really your idea for the contest and am looking forward to hearing the story of your photo as well!
Hi Mako, here's how you did:
Great job, you're the winner! Look for the 1 Steem prize soon! Thanks for initiating the contest and thanks for playing!
Okay so here goes my guess.
Picture is taken on one of your travels. The focus is both on the art and and the stairwell. Judging from the street art type, mixture of human and animal and the third eye, i would say its an asian country. And by the exits, looks like you coming from the traun station and heading towards the street.
You could have probably focused the whole image on on the art but maybe you didn't like the rest of the background. Or you were in a hurry to catch the train and quickly turned around to take a quick snap.
The art seems more of a focus so i take you a big fan of street art.
Location wise, thinking Thailand, Bangkok specifically. And you using the skytrain facilities.
That's it for now!! How did i do?

Okay @mimismartypants, here's what you got right:
This puts you in a tie for second place with @betterthanhome! Although I didn't announce it, I'm going to give you both a little something for finishing second :)
Thanks for playing! :)
99% sure it´s Bangkok and also quite sure it´s at any Skytrain station. I´ve seen this Bunny before somewhere else! ;-)
I say it´s Asok!
The Artist is definitely Alex Face!
Hi @betterthanhome, thanks for stopping by! My lips are sealed until post payout but I think you and the bunny are already very acquainted! :) Where is your shot from in BKK, it's great, @suitcasemama and I would love to see it in person!
I can´t remember exactly, but it must have been near Baiyoke 1 Tower. I remember we got lost and ended up in small alley. 😁
I'll have to track that wall down, it looks great! Got to enjoy it while we can - they just painted over our favorite local graffiti wall here in our neighborhood :(
would be funny if you find it. I think it was 4 years ago. Can´t remember. To much traveling. 😂
EDIT: was in 2014
Here's how you did @betterthanhome!

The photo is taken from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
Thanks for stopping by @philipkavan and I hope all is well in Dhaka!!
Thanks for playing @philipkavan, yes, this was indeed taken in Bangkok, Thailand!
Is Google allowed or is this purely based on deduction ? Found where this picture has been taken but won't talk about it because I'd rather see that SBI share being given to someone who really needs it. I looked up the artist's work and I love what he's doing with that bunny, really creative, thanks for the discovery !
I'd like participants to go as far as they can with pure deduction, but google is also allowed! I also love street art and the artist, maybe I made this a bit too easy, but couldn't help myself, I guess I was excited to share this piece! :)
