RE: The Questions Contest #40 | What is your favorite animal? | Reply and win SBD & Smartcash!
I love many animals, but I found a crazy species I didn't know. Those are called...TARDIGRADES or Water bears:
They are as old as dinousaurs.
They can survive radiation
They can survive in boling water or freezing ice for years
They can survive more than 1200 times the earth pressure
They might arrive to earth in meteorites
They can dehydrate themselves to survive without water for years
They are everywhere, you can easily have them as a pet if you own a microscope :)
They will not eat u!
Wow! Sounds like a very scary parasite!
haha no, those are not parasites :) Parasites live by killing other animals an "parasiting" them but tardigrades don't do it :)
Lol... Don't mind me... The scary part for me was the fact that they aren't easily killed and one needs a microscope to view them.
Practically all animals scare me buy I love dogs but from afar... Hehehehe
The tardigrade!
This is exactly the first animal I thought after reading your questing. After that I don't really have a favorite one.I guess I like the genetically altered mosquito, Anopheles gambiae, that could wipe out the entire malaria carrying species by passing on genes that cause infertility in female offspring.
"Is this ethical?" You might ask.
You could argue we're the cause of the sixth mass extinction event on this planet, so why add another species to the list? Especially considering we do not exactly know what other species, that rely on the mosquito for food, would be affected. I say, let's destroy these disease ridden buzzing bastards that were the cause of 445000 deaths in 2016 according to the WHO!

I also like the laser aparatus that shoots down mosquitoes in mid air:Wow, that's a crazy video lol I feel a little sorry for those mosquitos now...but I did read somewhere that they could disappear from earth and nothing would happen lol
I don't think that is true. Most sources speculate consequences aren't too good. There are other options however that don't kill off entire species. This video by SciShow explains it better than me:
Wow it is special. And it has 8 legs. How wonderful. This is the first time am hearing if it.
Very interesting.. So do you own One?
I want to buy a microscope to get some at home, but they are everywhere in every house hehe
So cute too!
These are really cute. Probably would be very fun to watch.
Oh this made me smile, it feels kind of cool to know that we are surrounded by minibears 🙌🏽
Jezzzzz! This as a pet? Do they grow? Like really grow? Can you train them too... It looks creepy though, more like a parasite...
Omg it's scary because it's microscopic and hard to kill! I'd rather see a roach so it can be killed easily for being a pest but that one seems tough too.
