He was an early miner who got in early, it's on BitcoinTalk Forums, no secret.
There are a few people who got in early when no one knew what it was or believed in it.

Not sure why, but they likely didn't make their official accounts at first. Miners were required to make a lot of separate accounts for each mining rig. So making an official social account likely wasn't the first priority as there was no social aspect at first.
