Haiku Saturday, Round 5

We are in the middle of #poetryweekend. I know things are very slow on steemit, but it is not too late to turn it around with some poetry fun. Yesterday, was #fridaypoets. If you wrote a poem yesterday, it is not too late to join in.Tomorrow is #deadpoems. Today is #haikusaturday; so go ponder nature for a bit and write a very short poem.

The Rules

  • UPVOTE and REESTEEM this post.
  • Put @prydefoltz in your title and one of your tags should be #haikusaturday
  • Write a haiku post and drop the link in the comments below.
  • Visit at least three other haiku and comment and upvote their COMMENT here. You can also upvote their post if you got the upvote power but it is not necessary. Your votes will decide the winners.
  • Wrote a haiku for another contest or challenge; feel free to post it here too. I'm not possessive.
  • The liquid payout from this post (SBD) will be split up among the winners (those who received the most upvotes) and the most supportive participants, those who upvoted and commented the most.

Steem is down and so our SBD payout was quite small, only 0.28. I split the payout just about equally, giving the the top vote receiver the change.

Hi, @prydefoltz. Hi, everyone :-) My contribution for #haikusaturday:
"Time"

For those of you who know any Spanish be sure to check out that version too. It is superb:)

You've captured the 'mood' of time so well in these three lines.

Thank you, @rlt47 ☻You've made me think that writing a haiku is like taking a picture; you need to 'capture' that which is revealed to you.

Ah, Yes - Thanks for sharing that perspective, I think it's useful thinking in that way!

I've got one! Haha, caught me at the last minute after an old friend provided some inspiration, which then led to a rant...

Hope you enjoy :)

Fascinating story, wonderfully encapsulated within the haiku!

I'm cutting and pasting the comment I'd left on your blog:

Thanks for the haiku and the provided background. It was like having a nice and illustrative conversation.
Your haiku, makes me think of past vs present issues, @lazarus-wist :D I'm rethinking things.

Hi! I'm cutting and pasting the comment I already posted to your blog:

Loved it, @prydefoltz; my eyes want another bite of that :D And the pic is great. Amazing red!

(I still feel like that, BTW :3)

Thank you, Marlyn:)

I'm a little late again, inspiration can't be controlled ) But rules are rules, I'd want to share my haiku anyway )

Not too much of a worry ... a little late:) I am happy to have this fine haiku added to our collection:)

The more the merrier:)

What could possibly be more noble and virtuous than protecting the rights of worms?!

I guess you can't have it all in life and yet we can do just beautifully. I liked this haiku, @liverussian

A gorgeous series:)

I'm pleased, you've found them enjoyable:)

you can always cut and past that comment here:):):)

Love the third one. Puts us in our place.

True that, Hha!

I loved this haiku series, @rlt47. Three shots of truth, a single revelation. I agree with @liverussian: they can be read as a single poem (amazing, by the way) ♥

Although they work fine separately, too ☻

Yes, I am eternally grateful for @liverussian's observation - as it has defined an approach, which allows me to combine haiku writing with poetry and storytelling.

thanks :) i've missed that one, will try to get in next time.

You haven't missed it. It is still Saturday where I am:)

Ah, clever! That's what I called true realization XD

Loved it, @artofwisdom

I'm coming back to upvote when it bumps up.

Cut and pasted my comment from your blog:

It's a good thing this haiku series has made me laugh. It means there's a bright side to all disecouraging situations, @mineopoly; we can always share joy like you do on your post ♥

Don't worry @marlyncabrea. I don't bite. Cutting and pasting your own comment in two places doesn't bother me at all. After all I linked the post in two places. You even put it in quotes. I appreciate your respect.

I'm glad you could enjoy the pancake poem and I'm glad for the opportunity to share together :-)

Check your wallet. I made a little donation to the prize pool. Thanks for sponsoring the contest!

That was very generous, Dabeckster:) Thank you. It will make a a big difference:)

Happy to contribute. I enjoyed all of this week’s entries.

A wonderful addition to the day:)

It's the first time I've heard of the "senryu" styled haiku; which allows for an expanded repertoire. Thanks for the share. I've learnt something new and gained further options.

I’d not heard of senryu when I composed it, but it fits the description pretty well.

Besides the creative outlet, Steemit has broadened out horizon regarding learning new skills and theories we wouldn't normally be exposed too. I think it's wonderful!

Cut and pasted my comment from your blog:

Fine irony. You've made me smile; I like the implicit love enthusiast of this "haiku/senryu," to quote @prydefoltz; and I loved reading it aloud. Thank you, @dabeckster :D
