It looks like all the planets were aligned yesterday as the day went exactly to script.

Ronaldo scored two on his return to Scum and Lukaku bagged another brace as our featured game ended 3-0 to Chelsea. Hopefully all that bad luck for me yesterday will translate into good luck for me today as the biggest game of the weekend kicks off at Elland Road this afternoon!

It's got to be done, let's see who fancies Leeds as much as I do!

Obviously, Leeds are going to win this. They are just coming into form after a battling draw at Burnley, their never-say-die attitude shines through as they fought their way from being one-down to get a draw, which given an extra 5 minutes would have undoubtedly been a win.

Kalvin Phillips might be a little tired after playing for England in the last two weeks but he's a strong lad and will be controlling the defensive midfield, stopping Salah getting anywhere near our 'calamity Copper'.

Junior Firpo and Mateusz Klich are back and raring to go after a little bout of Covid and so we should be at full strength. Dan James will probably be on the bench.

Bamford is due a goal or two after drawing a blank so far this season and in combination with Raphinha, who has been cleared to play, will run the Liverpool defence ragged. No mistakes today. Three points in the bag!

Liverpool will also be with their Brazilian contingent tonight except for Roberto Firmino who is injured. Talismanic Virgil van Dijk is available but I wonder about his temperament and a good nutmegging from Raphinha could see that sorely tested. Yellow card for him, no doubt.

This will be a great match and the opener of last season when Leeds lost 4-3 and was the only time I was not downhearted when Leeds lost. Today will be a different matter and I have no doubt we will win.
