INTERACTIVE BATTLE TOURNAMENT#3 - STAGE TWO FIGHT

in #contest7 years ago (edited)

Stage Two

The Water Demon is behind you and you make your way into the village of Stage two.

Here you are met by a local  politician, who decides he has superior intellect to you. Apparently this village has a strong belief that people with inferior intellect should be removed from the Gene pool.

He forces you into a debate about the meaning of life, to which if you lose you die! You can see him below giving his speech now on your screen:

The villagers are all so impressed with their leader dudes speech and his strong influence power is equivalent to a power score of 3 (dice roll of at least 3 or equivalent is required to win the battle).

This guy is determined to have you killed, unless you can prove you have more intellect.

Special field info (check for your class): The local leader dude has a strange resistance to all attacks and so there is no field roll change:

Warrior:  Player has no change to dice roll.

Thief: Player has no change to dice roll.

Wizard:  Player has no change to dice roll.

Basic Game Instructions:

Simply do a reply in this post with:

  1. How you want to attack the foe
  2. Finish the reply by typing @rollthedice

What will happen next:

A Bot should reply to your reply shortly and tell you your dice roll result. You need to add/remove from that number your special field effect (based on your character type - detailed above) and add/remove any passive item effect you have. After this, if you scored  a 3 or higher  you were successful. I hope people can self manage and just move on without me (check your own score, track your own lives etc). If you score less then 3, you lose a life point and must try again. If you use all life points, you must buy more from the item shop to continue playing...simplez! (well maybe, lets give it a try).

Advanced/Extended additional Game play options in this Stage post:

  1. You may challenge another player to an item (if you see they got one you like), see detailed instructions post here
  2. You may be challenged by Gobbo (you will see a reply from me which simply says @gobbo), you may accept challenge if you will by replying with @rollthedice, there are consequences, please see detailed instructions post
  3. If you are a Thief class you may attempt to pick the foes pocket before attacking, by replying with a simple standalone reply !pickpocket - see detailed instructions  post. Note: what ever item you get good or bad you are now stuck with for all Stages :) - unless a player challenges you and you lose it.

GAME ITEM SHOP POST IS ALSO NOW AVAILABLE HERE!

CAMPAIGN MAP IS ALSO NOW AVAILABLE HERE!

Special thanks to @spaceginger  for his artistic skills with the Interactive Battle Tournament Image above.  Other images were captured from the abandoware game Dragon wars. All Steem raised from this post will go to those whom win on the first roll/go :)

You still have 2 life points:

Well done, you may continue to the next stage when available

wounded warrior went further

Setzer is stumbling around drunk, fixed dice in one hand, a large bottle of some alcoholic drink in the other. He shouts "COME AT ME, BRO!" repeatedly in different directions. It's pretty clear that his words are not directed at the politician. While it looks like he's shouting off to the middle of nowhere, Setzer's repeated use of the phrase looks like he's itching for a fight with another wanna-be hero...

Are you a bad enough dude (or dudette) to kick Setzer's ass in one-on-one combat? @doughtaker will pay 1 SBD to the first player willing to attack Setzer in PvP, win or lose. Make sure to check the rules post first so that you declare your attack properly.

medieval warrior attacks Setzer @rollthedice

Waiting for @lordnigel to adjudicate as to whether or not this is a valid challenge (was incomplete but there are no other choices to be made), and if so, to confirm the value of your roll.

The attack is valid..the value of the roll is a 2 (No special effects on this Stage). Careful.. dice rolls to beat must be equal to the first dice displayed(logical as way the Stage fights work and defender needs advantage). In this case its a 2. So you only need a 2 or more to win if you accepted this battle (taking into account any passive item effects).

While medieval warrior should have declared which item he wanted, I think it's reasonable he will have to take what ever item you have if he wins.
(player vs player is a part of this game - I have added a warning to the detailed instructions to make this more clear).

The game is meant to be self played, and you should declare the item you want medieval warrior...if you attack someone and win, but did not declare the item - you get what ever item they have (you must choose an item if they have one, this is the point of player vs player or everyone would just be attacking each other all day).i.e.

In this scenario if the attack is accepted and If medieval warrior loses then he loses a life and loses one item (he has none - but if he did he would lose it..there is a key difference here though, as a losing attacker the defender does not have to take any item at all - I think this is reasonable and will stop attack spams...i will update instructions on this as well).

I think medieval warrior is incredibly brave here (I also think the rules weren't clear enough, but now they are). As the rules weren't clear If medieval warrior wins this, I will destroy the negative item - but only because the rules weren't clear...I don't think someone will fall for this a second time doughtaker.. The SBD part was a nice trick/touch! so I'm gotta let it play out (pending significant disagreement from multiple players - then i will go with majority)..hehe this will be funny regardless (I want to see if you roll a 6?) lol!

There actually is a scenario in which I think it would make sense for someone to take a payoff and attack for a negative item. If the attacker is down to their last life at an early stage and has no trophy tokens to get back in the tournament, then rather than try to run the gauntlet to get to the finals, it might be better for them to take a guaranteed consolation prize (or buyout) and then bow out of the competition (either the attacker wins and is effectively crippled to guarantee a future loss, or they lose on the spot and the defender is still stuck with the negative item as well as a lighter wallet). Obviously if this was stage 6, that's so close to the finals that no one would take the offer unless they knew they were guaranteed to lose against the stage 6 NPC no matter what.

So the 1 SBD offer was intentionally generous as a first-time play, and since medieval warrior is at 2 lives, if Setzer "wins", that means the exact scenario I just described above comes to fruition, and I could make another offer to @yura81 (for a smaller amount the 2nd time around) to have medieval warrior attack again. Evilly ingenious... ?

But like you said, this will be funny no matter how it plays out. A roll of 5 or 6 results in my ploy backfiring, while anything else is a success. @yura81 has already been paid, so here we go...

Drunk Setzer:
🎵 Rooooolll the lice.... it's paralyyyyze... 🎵
🎵 but iiif yoooouu wail... you goose uurr wiiiife... 🎵

and when the next Stage is available may continue. Well done!

Lady P strolls up to said politician and casually interrupts his blunderings and posturings to pose to him the following question:

Is the concept of “you” continuous or does past “you” continually fade into present and future “you”? In other words, what part of “you” sticks around over time considering that the atoms that make up your body are constantly being replaced and your memories are always changing?

and waits patiently for his brain to fry itself.

@rollthedice

Love it!

Your philosophical posts inspired my cunning plan. ;)
