Art Prompt Writing Contest #9

in #contest7 years ago

The writing prompt art contest concluded yesterday and I had a tough choice between two submissions, so I decided that for the ninth writing competition, authors get to select which piece they would like to use as a writing prompt. If you somehow manage to use both, more power to you ;-)

My overall winner was @anikekirsten with this digital painting called "Flying Whale".

My second selection was this photo from @bex-dk, which I am sure will inspire some stories.

Authors are tasked with using either piece as a story prompt, and create an original work of fiction of between 500 and 1500 words in length. I am not too strict on this unless judging is awfully close.

This will run for two weeks from today, closing at 23:59 PM Feb 25th.

There will be one overall winner who will receive 20 Steem plus the SBD payout from this post. Three runners up will win 5 Steem each.

Post your stories to Steem and link them in the replies below. Make sure you include the artwork or photo in your post and attribute it to @anikekirsten or @bex-dk.

TOP MUXXY TIP: make your way over to The Writers' Block on Discord to have your work critiqued and edited or to brainstorm ideas with our awesome staff, volunteers and members. It won't cost you a thing and will add that extra bit of polish to your submissions.

Good luck everybody, I look forward to reading your entries in a fortnight's time.

Beautiful post

@moneyinfant has added your contest to the list Steemit Writing Contests: Issue #17. The list is updated on a daily basis and your contest will remain on the list until its expiration - there's nothing you need to do.

The list was created to save writers the excessive amount of time spent searching through the #contest tag for writing contests. Now they can just come to the list each day, see new contests and use their time doing what they love - writing.

If you'd like to help spread the word about the Steemit Writing Contest list I'd really appreciate a resteem, but it certainly isn't necessary. The project is simply meant to help writers save time and contest creators attract more contestants.

P.S. If you know of any contests I've missed I'd love to hear about them. Thanks!

Thanks for this beautiful piece. HERE is a link to my entry... Enjoy my fictitious story

Congratulations to everyone who picked their brains and came up with stories to tell. I had such a fantastic time putting this piece together.

It's been so great to see all the different ways that these pictures spoke to us, all your stories are so varied and unique!

Thanks for this opportunity, I appreciate that I could participate.

Make it a wonderful day!

I managed to finish one in time. It's been too long since I entered one of these.... You know I like to help make your job difficult here.
