What will you do as a nephew if your favorite uncle is a drunk?
This is a story from a boy who tried all his best to help his Uncle quit drinking. And this wonder boy is me alipattern.
Some years back my uncle was an alcohol addict. His addiction was really disturbing not just for me but the family as a whole.
Now, I said to myself "I must find a way to help him" even though I knew this isn't going to be an easy task but I had to do something because he was so dear to me. Even though he was a drunk he really loved football, so I thought it to myself could this be the way? YES.
With that, whenever there is a football match, I made it a must to go with my uncle to watch every single football match it being local or international. And we all know it takes 90 minutes for a complete football match with 15 minutes break and with this is not nice to smell alcohol in the mix of people. Initially it wasn’t an easy task for him because he used to complain about not feeling comfortable without he drinking but with time he reduced the consumption and later my Uncle was able to stop drinking completely.
It took us almost a year through the whole process but, finally with the grace of God it was a huge success for us all.
