It is interesting to note that people as such are pattern recognition machines. It has to do with having evolved in nature hunting and being hunted as well as to recognize other humans are friend or foe, Family or enemy. As language evolved and writing came into the picture, those symbols became more complex. It may be that someone is planning all the things that happen in the world and are trying to give us hits.
