Not true. We have free will. That's why someone has to give up his or her soul voluntarily.
Demonic beings have attacked me a lot in the past. Not any more, because I have raised my energy towards unconditional love. I don't fear demons, because they are no threat to me.
In the past they dragged me to the hell dimension. I couldn't wake up and felt trapped there. When they tried to attack me, I focused on unconditional love/God, and I got out instantly.
I don't fear hell either, because I know how to get out.
I have helped a Muslim rapper from Africa, that was hunted by demonic beings trying to trick him to sell his soul for fame. I negotiated with the demon, and helped it out. Then it possessed me for around ½ a day with unconditional love as a thank you. I had to ask it to stop, because my body couldn't handle so pure energy. But it was a great experience.
I have experienced negative possession too after I saw a demon standing over me. I couldn't move. My feelings turned into extreme negativity. That tipped me off that I was possessed. All I did was to focus on unconditional love and I felt the demon leaving my body. Since that day, they left me alone, most of the time.
From my experience someone does not have to be a Christian to connect with God. But if you are happy to be a Christian. Keep doing that.
