Getting The People Involved

in #community7 years ago (edited)

One of the beautiful things about small towns is how willing and ready the people are to do something new. Today we had the opportunity to film history in the making. The lighting up of our local water tower. If that doesn't scream small town, I don't know what does. It's the little things that make life interesting here. Despite freezing temperatures and a frosted landscape, over 400 people showed for this moment in history. They didn't just show up though, they ran a 5k from the local brewery. So I guess people are more willing when there's beer involved.

Colony Christmas weekend is upon us. Come out for The Running of the Beers 5ishK by @bleeding_heart_brewery and then watch the lighting of our water tower presented by @alaskapicker don't miss out on all the fun. In the video here is a clip of Alaska Picker and the Bleeding Heart Brewery boys setting up the christmas lights on the water tower. #NomadCinematics

The event went off without a hitch. Several people were sliding around on the ice covered path. Everyone was cold but smiling. Everyone was slowed down by the biting cold but persevered. Everyone was there to see the lights go up on the water tower for the first time in our little home's history. A moment we were lucky enough to be involved in. A moment that we would like to share with all of you.
