Who is the Sharing Mastermind Group?

Who is the Sharing Mastermind Group?

We started as a group friends who met on Aspiring Steemit Whales and Dolphins.

ASWD was one of the first Steem related discussion groups on Facebook and quickly grew in popularity. It was started by @samstonehill with some admin help from @uwelang @happyphoenix @kenistyles.

ASWD is dedicated to those who aspire to be bigger fish in the ever growing Steemit ocean!

As a community driven promotion page we attracted authors from all corners of the ocean. Many early contributors rightfully became Whales and Dolphins as intended. We have seen community leaders and project developers grow with the group and it has been a great pool to watch for posts that you may not have found through your own feeds.

We invite all discussions regarding Steemit. Post promotion is encouraged with the intention of growing the community and allowing authors to receive targeted support directly on their posts.

The key to ASWD's popularity was that it was inclusive to all Steemians. With such a rapid growth we noticed a lot of the valuable engagement and guidance was drowning in an ever growing sea of links. We accepted this as an inevitable part of growth.

Steemit Mastermind Group was created to hold space for those who wanted meaningful conversations to continue. Specifically for the guidance and assistance of minnows and plankton who were brand new to blockchain blogging.

Our Facebook page was a great on boarding and learning pool for new Steemit members.

“The mastermind group principle is the coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.” - Napoleon Hill

SMG started as a private mastermind for the few with shared interest in curating, supporting and promoting members of the ASWD community. Many of the early members emphasized the importance of education, engagement and strategies to become as efficient as possible with our community support. This core intention continues today.

From the Steemit Mastermind Group Manifesto.

As time passed many SMG members came and went. Some stopped steeming entirely, many got busy elsewhere on the blockchain and a few hearts huddled in and are still with us today.

We watched as accounts and projects flourish. If we in any way helped support their growth we are happy. We too benefited from the diversity of their content and have all learned a lot about the vastness of the Steemiverse.

Eventually the majority of our members migrated to discord when cryptocurrency and blockchain based opportunities were being heavily censored on Facebook. In response to the overnight deletion of Bitcoin Wealth Club we decided to switch our main focus to discord and invite Facebook users to join us there for more community support.

As more members of SMG started sharing content through alternative dapps and other blockchain publishing platforms like @whaleshares. We changed our name to the Sharing Mastermind Group and rebrand our logo and banner.

WHO IS SMG TODAY?

We are still a small group of friends, even stronger than ever. We are still inclusive and supportive of content creators from all corners of the ocean. We still have wide open arms to help anyone connect, create and contribute with our communal projects and promotions.

We have matured, we have evolved, we have all grown. A strong team is made of strong individuals working together. Many of us have taken on leadership roles and commitments in new communities too. Yet we still have a vested interest in our base with the mastermind.

Now it's time to revise and revitalize our SMG common-unity!

Our 15 core members have delegated a combined ~3000SP to the @smg group upvote. We currently have 44 active in our discord and an automated voting weight of ~31,000SP following our @steemauto curation trail at varying percentages.

A huge thanks goes to our delegating core members: @amico @eftnow @happyphoenix @hopehuggs @hungryhustle @iamjamie @iliasdiamantis @karinxxl @kenistyles @richardcrill @riverflows @shadowspub @sugandhaseth @tibra @verhp11

We aim to use our modest voting power and influence to support the wider community.

We publish a co-curated digest that highlights communal topics and interests. All rewards go back to the contributors and community. We run promotions and competitions to invite new members and help boost those who are most active in our discord discussions.

Will you join the next generation of SMG!

Hi @spaminator bot, thanks for the encouraged comment.

I learn more about this platform everyday and although I have been a supporter of @steemcleaners @guiltyparties witness efforts, veteran support and general amazing anti-spam work around the blockchain. I didn't realize at all the scope of "tag spam" and that this post would be seen as "tag abuse" LOL! 😂

I laugh because it is funny to me. In my opinion it's a funny balance for us to be organizing and categorizing for the "best" collation and search optimization, subjectively of course.. and then over reaching into the realms of shaming, blaming, intimidating or finger pointing on people who wish to promote small community efforts. Is that considered "spamming" who's to say? Just because accounts have high rep or SP does not make them more right or wrong. Yeah and I was the lone Asian kid who stood up to the fat greedy bullies in the playground.. perhaps I'm triggered? ✊

What if everyone in our sub-community accidentally "mis-tagged" this post and shared it, would we be considered spamming or promoting? What "harm" are we doing? Personally I felt it was a "right" fit, since it was an introduction to the community as well as an invitation for readers to come and introduce themselves. We do want to form sub-communities right? You know retention and new user support and all that?

I will add that until reading the sourced article, I did not know of any hard "rule" that only ONE #introduceyourself post was permitted and I'm still not really sure who or why that would be enforced. Even with the explanation, people are free to grow, change and evolve over time. I for sure will hopefully mature in time too. I feel there is "no harm" in people re-using this tag, especially if they are away from the platform for some time and feel drawn back and want the benefit of using their old account and reconnect with their followers but feel to introduce themselves to attract new support. Sure their original post might be way down their feed, so what, isn't it their freedom to elaborate on that or completely change direction?

Anyway those are just a couple examples off the top of my head, I'm sure there's many more if I really thought into it. My main point is I respect and admire the efforts of the @steemcleaners community and your @spaminator bot.

I've learned and taken on board the importance of accurate tagging. I also had a glimpse of the controls that the wider community could impose on me for any perceived abusive behavior here. Right on, you're free to do so as you please. As I am free to tag as I wish in future posts with my new perspective.

Perhaps the fact I even feel affronted by this bot comment which I personally see as way spammy, is the most amusing thing to me. Also that by using this tag incorrectly I am in some way seen to be abusively gaming dust votes from yet more "automated welcome bot" spam comments is ironic.

Perhaps it's just that I haven't had my coffee yet this morning.

It all feels a bit bossy and restrictive..

Play on players ✌️

Me too I'm proud being a part of this great group, @kenistyles!!!

A huge hug from amico!

Thanks @steemladder bot! 🤖👍

Love how this group has evolved and the work you put into it. I can't believe I didn't really know about it's evolution at all until now! The mastermind aspect always eludes me - I feel as if I'm the 'novicemind' in this group, but love the help you give and the support you give @naturalmedicine too - really ever so appreciated! xxx

@riverflows Love you and loved getting to know you through the group. All the work you put into the NM community project does not go unnoticed and it is has become such an incredible library of valuable information already.

We are all masters and novices in our own rights, right? Such is the power of common-unity and one of our greatest strengths is holding space for the whole. Definitely since we've been on and discord all our sub-communities sprouting at the same time it has been challenging to manage.

Original SMG masterminders may had seemed to be disbanded, though through all the interwoven degrees of separation we are all still very much connected. It has been an honor to be one of the originals remaining to care take for our group. To maintain the openness, willingness and intention to educate and inspire.

Even through our silent hours, even with the trickling coming and going tides of energy. I do my best to pass on any knowledge that I am gifted through my web to the group and I look forward to when more members return to share their insights too.

It's all a balancing game and for sure the plates stopped spinning for a while. It's ok though, we'll keep going, growing and sharing! We are all still learning in this space and we are all here to offer what we can along the way. That's the pulse of a mastermind after all, many consciousnesses coming together.

All we've been missing lately is a common goal, it's good to be refocused on the new wave of Steemians again!

Thanks for being with us all this way love! 💗

@verhp11 @amico Haha! Yes I am happy too you guys, actually I just posted it first from this account by accident then the @smg. Though hopefully it'll be a bit of extra exposure too. It'll be cool if you guys can resteem the one from the community account if you feel to. Then it's not "my name" so attached to the group. We are all equals in here after all

Done it already, resteemed the both :)

Mans on it on it in duplicate!! 👍👍
