1806 Grill - Native American Microenterprise Crypto Crowdfunding
What Is It?
Today, a Bitcointalk Announcement was made regarding an Expanse ICO. The ICO is a crowdfunding raise for $2500, about 1250 EXP at current rates. The founder intends to open a small business that will travel to Native American Events. A limited number tokens will be made and are priced about 1 cent each. There is not a promise of returns. There is not much to speculate on.
Why Am I Writing About It?
First, this is crypto community. We support each other. This is a real world use for cryptocurrency in a manner that helps improve lives. $2500 is humble ask, IMO. The impact that a small business can have on an individual and their family is inspiring.
Second, this is how crypto gains adoption. Changing lives, building our communities, making the global crypto economy a little closer to home.
Finally, because I think that this ICO will be a historic event in the Expanse timeline. Expanse is a lowkey, undervalued project with a great future and many exciting things coming up (Check out @cryptoclub). This is one of the first Expanse ICO's and it couldn't be for a better cause. It's also the first Native American Asset token on any blockchain.
I'm Not In Crypto, Why Do I Care?
According to the Bitcointalk announcement, this ICO is being treated as a "...working Proof of concept for tribal leaders to showcase ICO ability to fund micro enterprise in local reservation areas". The impact that cryptocurrency can have on people is limitless. It's providing financial security to people all of the world. In areas with economic turmoil due to crashes, wars, and crises, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and cryptocurrency is providing not only a way to store and protect financial value but also a way to opt out of government controlled currencies. I've covered previously why people opt for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies like Expanse. The potential for this virtual currency to change lives in the real world is astounding. In the long term, the Native American community can utilize cryptocurrency and the technology present in crypto to further separate the future from the US government and the US dollar.
I will convert any STEEM earned on this post to EXP and be sending it to the ICO, if tokens are still available. EDIT: Or you know, I'll screw up and forget to change my settings from power up. I'l figure out the math and still do it though
