The spiritual communion: God the Father loves you because you love me, and you believe I have come from him. John 16:27

The words of Jesus during the last supper created great confusion in his disciples, because the Lord spoke to them of spiritual changes that they did not understand, first and foremost his death and resurrection, and then the arrival of the Holy Spirit to the disciples with his spiritual gifts in tongues of fire. The disciples, except for Judas Iscariot, were men who feared God, but that was not enough to understand the mysteries of the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus was concerned about this problem but he was confident that his words, with the help of the wisdom of the spirit, would eventually be remembered and understood, with the birth of the early Church.
And this happened especially when Jesus spoke to them about his return to the Father, as the Gospel of John relates with these words: "At this, some of his disciples said to one another, ´What does he mean by saying, ´In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,´ and ´Because I am going to the Father´?´" John 16:17.
But then Jesus spoke to them about the guidance and presence of the Holy Spirit and the spiritual communion in that perfect love after his resurrection: "You will ask the Father in my name, and I won't have to ask him for you. God the Father loves you because you love me, and you believe I have come from him" John 16:26-27.
When Jesus spoke to his disciples about love, he tried to console them for the difficult moment that would occur after the last supper. There is no greater blessing for a Christian than to know that love projected toward the whole creation of God, the agape love; a love that is born from the likeness to God and that is the product of the fullness of gifts in the heart of man.
Lord Jesus concluded his teaching, according the gospel of John, on that spiritual communion that had to bless the disciples with the promise of the greatest mystery, the spiritual gift of eternal life, the spiritual life that once obtained cannot be lost.
